Ok let me Come In between the two of you. I called My cousin who was old enough at that time while I was reading your comments. He is saying this guys were Murdered by Someone Called Ciro. They wanted them to serve as example to soldiers who are backing off from the war.

^ BS. Cirro was part of the officers that stayed behind in Xamar, so how could he kill those soldiers who were miles away?

Ali Samatar was the commander of the northern division and it was the southern division based in Dollow that captured Jigjiga. The northern division despite their superior weapons didn't move one inch towards the enemy soil, they were met with hard resistance from the Amxaar.

Guess who was leading the southern division. A colonel amongst generals :D

abdalla,

I have an ex Colonel Friend who lives in mpls. I don't have his phone number but I would go look for him. He might know what happened. Unfortunately, I heard non of the soldiers survived to tell what happened. My dad and the rest were young soldiers fighting deep in the woods.

Abdalla:

people are trying rewrite the history of that war which is still fresh in our memory, One said the southern division took Jigjiga that is not correct, first of all there was no such thing called southern division but 60 division based in Baydhabo and they fought in Sidamo and Bale. Colonel Abdullaha yusuf ex pres was commanding that flank of the war., he did not gain many ground but advanced as far as Filtu to outskirt of Neggele.

Div 26 based in Hargeysa and 21 at Dhusamareb fought western front and Ciro did not stayin behind in Mog as said but he was in charge all supply and logistics of western fronts

my uncle who was AY driver told me his commanding officer Col Abdullahi Yusuf Yeey was very colculated and fearless leader and when the Somali army withdrew from liberated areas Abdullahi left behind no equipments or men.

You asked the reason behind killing those brave soldiers, it is very clear some high ranking commander wanted to demoralize Somali fighters after they discovered their bravest and brightest warriors were shot to dead by their own army. SNA desolved into disarray and there was born Somali curse of internal conflict.
