union wrote:How intriguing. The brain dead people of Egypt, most of whom live in slums with 100 kids per family, have voted in two opposing sets of Islamists who are now going to clash and will probably in the process ruin the Egyptian tourism industry.
it makes me want to move to Egypt. without doubt, the ultimate victory is on the horizon. my allah bless the people of Egypt and their pious imams for leading them into the right path. ameen.

they suffered so much for so long under ruthless and tyrant dictators and the time for real freedom, peace, tranquility, prosperity and equality under the banner of authentic Islam has come. my allah bless our Egyptian brothers who fought so hard to free themselves from american-Israeli-sponsored bloodthirsty dictators into a world of possibilities and enlightenment.

i have an utmost respect for you and may allah destroy your enemies.

viva salifis, viva Muslim brotherhood----i admire you so much.

Actually AL Azhar was very moderate because Mubarak interfered and hand picked the Muftis, now legitimate Salafi scholars can retake their role, it will become like Medina Islamic Uni

The Egyptian military will safeguard secularism in Egypt.

Don’t think so?

How many armed divisions do the MB/Salafis have?

Don't count on that. Other than the US invading and occupying Egypt to prevent the domino effect of Islamists from taking over power, there's no solution.

Word on the street is the the Egyptian Millitary was pleasantly surprised that the salafis did so well.
They were in quite a bit of a jam, after failing to goad the Muslim Brotherhood several times, and they were recently outmaneuvered and checkmated by the muslim brotherhood and they were pissed off.

The Salafis will open many doors for the millitary, just watch aljazeera and see the events unfolding in the next few weeks.

Judging by their previous behaviour and their sophisticated understanding of the political environment, i predict that the Muslim brotherhood will
endorse Baradaei for president and unite with liberals against the salafis..

Both the Muslim brotherhood and the Salafis want a muslim state,
but the Salafis will ruin the chances of any "islamist" taking power by their naivety and stupidity.

Exactly.

To get the support of the liberals, the Muslim Brotherhood will have to shelve many of their more extreme reforms and become Islamist in name only like El Nahda.

These useful idiots brighten my day.

Not Baradei the majority do not like him. People see him as a foreigner who has little do with the country. Unfair but he hasn't helped it because he has zero political acumen and has allowed himself to be easily stereotyped. No way Baradei will win a Presidential election.

I agree that they will likely work with the liberals in the Parliament, but nominating a guy like Baradei will turn off the average Egyptian. Much more likely choices are between two IMO. They will either hold their noses and back Amr Moussa, who is very politically aware, and has portrayed himself to be a centrist. He is also well liked by the public. Or they will make amends with AbdelMoneim Aboul Fotouh. He used to be part of the MB leadership but they actually kicked him out because he went against the party command and ran for President. Even though they had a problem with this, I can see them reconciling and backing him for President. He is a doctor, well spoken, well liked, and head of the biggest doctors union in Egypt. Either of those two will be endorsed, I hope its the latter because Amr Moussa is a snake lol.

union they have already done this..
They have released a proposed economic plan that will please western investors..
and they have already said that they are following the AK Party in Turkey as an example..

They have been tricked twice by the army in the 50's and the 70's and they will not be tricked again, they are in it to win.
The MB have already accepted the fact that it will take decades to reduce the power of the army, they plan to slowly chip away at them for the next 10 to 20 years.
and unlike Turkey the army do not really care about secularism they only care about money.
They control 40% of Egypts economy, they have their own banks, factories that produce everything from Tanks and Fighter planes to toothpast and televisions, and they do not want anyone touching their stuff.

Jaidi Amr moussa is a snake and is too popular, because he is adored by the average egyptian.
I said Baradei because of his political inexperience , he is still popular in egypt but will not present a threat to anyone.
