fighter, There aren't real clan-owned parties because you need to include everyone to succeed politically or to at least look credible. Just because it's founder belongs to a certain clan doesn't mean his clan owns it, they might support it but they need to beg others to win

True, those garhajis parties should have merged though. They could have been serious contenders. They have 3 or 4+ parties minimum I believe.

Anyway lots of parties is not clan politics, this isn't 4.5 style. Here everyone is having a go and to go though all clans must vote for them, this is regular politics

so theres 10 political parties? i think the UK has about 13+ parties so its not too bad. somaliland political parties arent as progressed like western parties so wudnt it be a lot harder to understand what these different parties stand for and what they want? anyway i never supported democracy but any democratic country that doesnt put a cap on its number of parties is bound to fall apart. back in aden cadde's time, there were good efforts to keep the number of parties below half a dozen and it worked, but come the fall of '69, it got out of hand and look where it took us ka taxadir dadyoow

you cant really say it was rigged sxb, give credit where its due, the electorate comitee guys in the 60s were decent men and aden cadde lost fair and square, albeit for different reasons.

and i never understood why african leaders in the AU didnt honour him as much even when he died, if he was such a 'great' democrat then they would have done a lot more.

They don't credit him cause Africa is home to dictators and tyrants who kill their own ppl.

the AU have given tribute to many african leaders like kwame Nkrumah jomo kenyatta etc and even haile selassie, but i never hear them speak of aden cadde. infact aden cadde and kwame became president of their countries on the same day.

aden cadde has a unique history compared to the other many leaders of africa, his regime was never toppled, he was a foundin member of the AU in '63, he went through two presidential elections and a national war, all without upheaval. to top it off, he lived in his farm in his own country throughout the rest of his life and his life was never in a major political threat, even during the height of the civil war. and he recieved a state burial when he died. if the AU gave credit to anyone, it should have been him.
