Most of them know each other from growing up in government housing projects, so they're all well aware of each person's lineage. You can join the club but you can never aspire to hold a position (treasurer/president/vp of communications) 'cause they vote along qabil lines. Even if their person is unsuitable/unqualified for the role.hyperactive wrote:lol fah! sealion, how they know each other's qabil? or they ask each other?

Re: On Friday...
Oh I was talking about student clubs at university. The mosque thing I think is mainly being made to feel unwelcome/excluded if you're not of the majority tribe.hyperactive wrote:what has to do with administration tho? lol im sorry but people go to pray and leave right? or it's also is social club, madrasa , library etc?

then i wouldnt join such thing! authobillah. but they grow up in the west, how they understand the qabiil? they may know names but they would be clueless about complicated somali lineage! even for me i thought i understand well cause i grow up similar arab tribal society , im confused as hell when they told me different things about my own lineage! then i gave up on understanding it.Sealion wrote:Most of them know each other from growing up in government housing projects, so they're all well aware of each person's lineage. I remember there being this huge power struggle there. Basically 2 qabiils fighting over who gets to control the mosque.Beans wrote:

Re: On Friday...
Nabeela come on I think your a few years late to start claiming another qabil now. Now let me tell you what role your qabil played at khalid since I grew up there. And by your qabil I don't mean everyone but the few key individuals. When the fitna started they the M wadaads lined up with two other qabils to over power one qabil. Thank God my qabil was not involved this time.
