I read in a book that the Harti who lived in the south alongside the Mareexans and others made a tier or class system that made them above all other clans, including the Mareexams. The saying goes "Harti iyo something terrible that began with h " This h being something akin to slave. So Hartis of the south were the upper caste and all others below them. Also, because most associate Marehan with the last time they had any peace or stability. It's amazing how people make connections to such things sometimes. Unlike the major clans, these people had no one to protect them and were always at the mercy of whoever had the bigger guns. Whereas during the MSB years, they lived a peaceful & prosperous life. Never recall any minority clans being picked on or besieged pre-91 years.
