I think a final agreement about Somaliland's future is not visible at the moment but what will be discussed initally and hopefully will be agreed is the design of the future negotiations. Somalilad side will push for that any negotiation in the future should be between Somalia and Somaliland in the form of colonial boders. If agreed and signed by the two presidents, no Somalia president will in the future be able change any thing about the agreement and that will give somaliland a solid platform to enter a productive negotiation with anyone replacing Sheekh Shariif.

Khalid Sheikh Sharif & and his goverment will be leaving in few months time, so even if all goes well and we come to an understanding what gurantee is there that the next adminsitration will honor agreements reached with Sheikh Sharife and co...I would have liked for us to wait and see who comes after Sharifka and start talks with the new administration...The world did not give us a deadline to start talks so what's the hurry?

What if Maslax Maxammad siyaad comes i have Sharif over Maslax ma fahantay , Sharif we can try talking to him we haven't had any talks with him so why not give it a shot i am not saying it will be all good but why not what do we have to lose.
The thing is my dear Madeline we don't know who comes after Sharif Somalia's politics in unpredictable alliances change last minute we cant rely on that what we can do is in the next government of Somalia we should play a role behind the scene and perhaps support people who we we can deal with like Abdiwahaabs uncle what was his name he was in hargeysa in november there are many other ways i love Siilaanyos foreign policy. It wont end with Sharif there are also other things taking place u know.

Somaliland recognition the Europeans say its an African matter take it to the African union and those bantus sitting in Addis Ababa. True the transitional period will be ending in a few months time but there is a big chance that Mr sharif returns

Madaline we cant be like Puntland Inadeer Puntlland is deeply involved with Xamar they have Abdi weli directly taking orders from Faroole while being the TFG prime minister and Puntland doesn't claim to be a separate state they are just a country with in a country the Somalilanders in the TFG are seen as traitors by our government we need to have a good agreement with one of the groupings fighting for power and support one.
Whilist puntland is passing the new Constitution of Somalia which will favor their interest they are also passing a Puntland Constitution this month.
The best way we can do is work with one of the groupings presidential candidates or mps if it comes to voting bribing behind the scenes secret meeting etc

Samatar we miscalculated in 1990 and 1991 u know that we put all our horses on General Caydiid so that we can form some sort of a confederate state between Somaliland and Somalia equal power sharing SNM /USC But General Caydiid didn't deliver in 1992 he was fighting in Galkacyo Abdiraxmaan tuur was fighting near the Somaliland and Somalia border Xingalool and a whole new government was installed with Ali Mahdi as the head of state and Omar Arte Qalib as Prime Minister. 21 years later lets not make that mistake ever again Koonfurians are Koonfurians we have to pick and choose the options are open we are dealing wit this TFG we will have talks with them if that doesn't work out we will have different kind of talks in the near future maybe in a few years time with another government of Somalia in the mean time we will continue our path looking for options
