I think it's a good idea to unlock. One way to settle; a poll.

I agree with nabeela the beauty, we as Somalis don't know what moderation is.

Arabman is right, a POLL!

I also think it is a bad idea to reset the lock/unlock option on older posts. I understand where zingi is coming from in how boring and slow the forum can be these days but that should be looked at a challenge to start posting interesting topics yourself so that others may get involved. That's my .02.

If the admin unlocks the old topics then some delusional people will only bump the old topics, people wont have a chance to see the new topics. dont unlock the old topics,

I do not support unlocking those old topics.
I think there are exceptions for certain topics, so the person who wants it bumped should contact a Mod and they will decide if their case is legit.
Arabman,
We should not do a poll, because for all we know, you'll sign in with you 'other' usernames to add support.
Everyone who is for and against should say it clearly here and we'll see.
ONLY active members count. Others shouldn't matter ileen they don't participate anyways.

How about leave the old threads in General locked and unlock the ones in the other sections which are not as busy as Generals?

Unlock by request.
Those who have genuine interest in locked threads should just request the thread be unlocked by PM. Aside from the webmaster, if the Admin or a mod is able to unlock threads then I don't think they'd object to a thread being unlocked, unless the thread itself is/was considered malicious.

It seems we're being Somalis after all.
Never saw in any forum where threads are locked coz "their date expired".
Waryaa, keep them locked then.

Agree, please unlock. Some of these older topics I missed are really decent...

I'm against it...when the whole "similar threads" feature was introduced, you'd see clueless members fighting with people who haven't posted since 2006 over a comment made in like 2004. It was kinda awkward just reading it to be honest

Keep them locked, I don't even like the similar threads feature;
The last thing I want to do on here is read what I wrote 5 years ago
