There was a time Hargeisa, Burco, Ceerigaabo, Berbera was looted and bombed and ransacked. It is poetic justice that these cities continue to rise. The level of destruction still haunts people to this day as land mines left by the former regime continue to take lives. We must be grateful to Allah and the good people at Halo Trust who work hard every day to help the citizens of Somaliland to continue to move forward without having to worry about where they put their feet for the most part. Thanks to Allah and the people of Somaliland, we continue to persevere. It makes me happy that in Somaliland we've turned the destruction into cosmopolitan cities/towns. Every single City from Borama to Ceerigaabo to Lascanood now has a university. Thanks to Allah for giving the SNM and the elders of Somaliland from Borama to Lascanood to reconcile, town by town, village by village, neighbourhood by neighbourhood. It has been a slow progress, but progress none the less. The contrast between the wisdom that worked in Somaliland to focus on reconciliation as opposed to the wisdom in Somalia to continue the civil war and cause mass starvation by continuing to loot as was done to the barns of the Bay & Bakool regions by the likes of Morgan tells us why we have two different realities today in Somaliland and Somalia. Insha Allah the people of Somalia will see the light and will learn to live in harmony with each other and learn the old way of the kacaan has failed Somalia miserably and there is no going back. Somalia's dictatorial political culture needs to be rehabilitated from Puntland to Jubaland. In sha Allah they will see the light sooner rather than later.
