I can't speak for others but I'm more inclined to marry a home grown woman with somali dhaqan and deen than a bachelor waving, beyonce listening, love and hip hop watching westernized woman that's been to a few house parties in her college days.

I really feel sorry for those women, most of the time they put their career first and once the years of 27-30 are reached they go through a mid life crisis. Whilst they were young and fair they'd have this airhead mentality but once the dreaded age has been met and they still have not done their number 1 job which is to reproduce they will settle down with the first loser willing.

The reality is Screw, that beyonce listening hipster has more in common with you than the somali dhaqan you aspire to. There is a difference between who we are and what we aspire to be. A large number of young somali males that grow up in the west are equally as westernized as their female counterparts.

Putting aside the westernized somali women, there are those who are educated and religious but because of their committments are "old" by Somali standards, what you say of them?

Would you say the problem is made worse by the somali males in their category (27-30 n still single) who do not look their way? do you feel such men have any obligation for the better of the somali community to look into marrying such women in hopes having atleast household in which both parents are highly educated (a rare in the somali community)

I would not have a problem with a educated wife as long as she performs her duties to family and I will perform mine.
The last time this question came up I trolled said that I wanted a dumb wife but this is not the case, I want my wife to be a good example to my children and good teacher. If she is educated then she will educate the children better.

Besides people seem to believe that intelligence=educated, this is not the case and I have seen to many examples to turn a blind eye.
One person from the bushes can be smarter then educated ones. And marrying outside can be an option but it can also create another types of problems like confusion, identity problems etc.

Generally, I'm very liberal but i refuse to compromise the future of my children for a woman who isn't fit to be a mother.
