Seriously, it happens in all African countries.
Word is if Sharif Ahmed loses, he will support a new insurgency against the winner.
Lol what a buffoon, Abgaals relationship with him is one of convenience, and a lack of better opportunities. Does he really think Abgaal would support him against Amisom?

exec, no or a very small minority in the parliament.
Most parliamentarians are from the diaspora

They will elect their head as well as the president. Then they will also have the power to approve or reject the new prime minister.

Sh. sharif has a big chance of winning even though the roadmap and garowe accords say corruption is not acceptable in the upcoming election but we all know thats bullshit as they have no way of enforcing this, anyways sh sharif has support of the abgaals, majeerteens like faroole wanna keep the status quo, he has support of the corrupt dirta waqooyi, the former islamists and many of the dhulbahante. only person who can stop sh sharif is the D and M vote which sharif xassan is going to use against him.

Sharif is going to win. Why?
1) Too many candidates are on the ballot sheet. 60+ presidential candidates. This means the vote will be split like crazy. With less than 5 serious contenders, you got another 55 useless ones who will possibly get 1 vote each. This splits the vote. 1 vote is a lot once you add them up. The serious contenders (Sharif excluded) could really use those votes.
2) Sharif has the $$ to bribe MPs and he does have strong support.
3) Farmaajo, easily the most popular candidate with the locals, doesnt have the $$ to bribe anyone.
4) Sakiin doesn't have much support himself, especially from his own clan.
5) Abdiweli doesn't have much support in Puntland.
*Cant comment on the other serious contenders as I am not too knowledgeable about their situation.
It will be a narrow win for Sharif and it will be narrow not because the serious contenders stealing votes from Sharif but because those useless 60 candidates with their limited support of 1 or 2 votes that add up
Is this going to be a runner up election? If so, then anything can happen. If not, this is what will occur.

Waryaa, talk about sensationalism. If shariff looses, he is out and finished. Shariff has no army that is loyal to him and can with stand Amisom. He has no people willing to tear apart mogadishu, just for his sake. That is why he is working so hard to stay president.

KimJongIllest, there is multiple rounds that happen in Parliamentary elections. Until it is the top three or two that are left.

Whoever has the most MPs on his side will get the majority of the votes come election time and it seems that Mr. Ahmed got this in the bag.
