Re: Raw Food Diet.
VERY IMPORTANT!
If you're serious about it then don't just watch few videos on the net & make your decision to rule out certain food groups from your diet without consulting a doctor and/or dietician (to have checked your age/weight/height to determine what healthy diet you can flow + balanced nutrition table, as well as to know if you have some underlying medical issues that might get worse if you don't get certain nutrition due to the diet). You can still have lean, red meat few times in a week + plenty of raw, green veggies, fruits, legumes, raw nuts etc and still lose weight.
Not trying to scare you but I personally know two young ladies (Wallaahi visited one just few days ago) who got sick due to being fussy eaters & wanting to be slim & not following proper diet or consulting a doctor. One was back in the doctor just yesterday whereas the other was put in hospital coz she was shitting blood & was think like anorexic.
It's cool to look good, fit & healthy but the need to lose weight quick can be disastrous sometimes.

Re: Raw Food Diet.
I did the juice fast earlier this year and recommend it to all. Give your liver a chance to recover after years of abuse. Give your body vital micronutrients otherwise not consumed. If anyone can dry fast for 30 days, juice fasting is a breeze. I juice organic veggies like kale, celery, cucumber, lemon, green apple and fresh ginger for lunch. Make about 50 Oz at a time and store it away. For breakfast, I would blend instead of juice berries like blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, a slice of papaya, mango and a scoop of whey protein for added protein. Most green veggies have protein so you're not really missing out on protein all that much while you're green juicing. Broccoli, kale and asparagus along with brussel sprouts have the most protein around 11g at a serving which is around the same amount as a boiled egg. You'll lose serious weight as a side effect. You might need a juicer, because blending and juicing aren't the same thing. I blend breakfast fruits, it yields more and need the fiber. Juicing doesn't give much fiber, it's separated as a pulp which I usually dump out. This will be my second time doing it. I did it for 15 days the last time and will do another 15 days now.
You can watch Joe Cross's documentary here and find recipes, too.

Arabman - I used to be plagued by headaches, not nearly as much anymore. It helped me quit caffeine. Mostly interested in it's natural regenerative qualities. Also, while juice fasting, did not deal with mid-day sugar slump. No fluctuating blood sugars because you're not eating heavy meals, no sugar, no caffeine, no sodium, no triglycerides, etc. improved liver function, improved immune system, more energy.

Re: Raw Food Diet.
The body is actually designed to eat very little meat. And carnivours only eat meat, we are omnivores, and more on the herbivore than carnivore. The consumption of a lot of meat coincides with a lot of diseases. And it is better for the earth, since 1kg of meat takes up the energy it takes to produce 4 kg of vegis/grainsgurey25 wrote:your body is designed to eat meat, vegetarianism is gay.

The amount of meat you should eat on a daily basis should be the size of your fist really. More fruits and veggies, less meat; too bad most people do the opposite.

Re: Raw Food Diet.
The ginger isn't, couldn't find organic ginger at my local farmers market. But, since I only use a small piece of it, didn't really stress on it. I make sure my main ingredients e.g. the kale, spinach, celery and cucumber are always organic, otherwise because of their porous nature, they would've soaked up a lot of chemicals. Difference in price is usually $2-$3.
