I think their problem is they're just too slow on trends. They don't know what's going on until it's too late. At least that's what it seems like. I liked Dreamcast but never got onto Xbox lol. But Windows Mobile was out a year before Apple's first iPod and 7 years before the iPhone. Unfortunately for them all they did was sit around snickering until Apple sales ate up their mobile market.

I'm no fan of MS. Been using Ubuntu at home for over 6 years now. But MS and Apple are very similar in what you've described. One company is simply better at managing their acquisitions and "borrowed" tech.

Honestly, almost anything is a better alternative to Apple products at those ridiculous prices. As Brobaganda said, why go for an iPad when you can get the Nexus 10 which has a far superior OS and half the price?

Microsoft will win in the the long run because of developer tooling and sheer number of developers, try to write Iphone/IPad app without losing your mind. Objective C is crap. Another think with Apple is you can't run any third party application, or games.

Windows store has over 15k apps and the app store have only existed few months.

Yes, the Nexus 10 is comparable with Apple products, but the Surface RT goes for only $10 *more. When it comes to those two, they gotta do their research.
