Do you know that before Allah sent us to this world we were all gathered before Him in Jannah (our true home) and we testified that Allah is our lord and will worship Him. So He sent us out to the world to test us to see if we will actually stick to that testification when it comes to having a choice whether you want to or not.

If you show off and tell others of your good deeds then Allah might not reward you for it, while maybe He was about to reward you. If you share your sins Allah might not forgive you, while maybe He was about to forgive you.
