Think about it the night before, map out the what and when and in which order. Takes away the excitement and surprise factor though

who needs surprise, when your productiveness increases, that's excitement enough

Only time I plan is when I have tons of things to get done. I make a list and write by the time I need to get it done by and if I've done it I'll tick it off.

It's good to surprise yourself and act like a free agent when it comes to your engagements it keeps things interesting and makes all the probably mundane activities seem like mission impossible, especially when you've got a long list of things to do. You can have a theme tune playing in your mind as you decide right there and then, under pressure, what needs to be done next. Working against the clock, making sure your mission is accomplished

Finally a useful thread

Discipline is one of the keys to being successful in life.
Its a simple enough concept... give yourself some structure and stick to it. You will reap the benefits.
Im trying to get into the habit of taking 10-15 min at the beginning of my day to determine the tasks and activities I need to do and how long each should take me. I try to them some order as well.
Im also trying to get into the habit of then reviewing your day taking 10 mins at the end of the day.

You know I was thinking the other day, if you plan your life and daily activities, and use pen and paper to do so, do you errode at yout mental abilities to memorise and make decisions or are you just aiding it.

Download a task planner app. Use a year diary. Use plain pen and paper. you choose.

Depends.Small to do things, plan the night before.
Break into negotiable and non negotiable.Usually leave one evening of the week for spontaneous stuff.
Reward myself when i accomplish major of things i need done.

Your productivity doesnt neccessarily increase, instead at the end of the day you look at the list and see all the things you did not get done
But it does help you remember things.
