That's true I have to give you the last par of your statement.As for it been a hot topic I disagree.Jubaland and other political skulduggery concerning Somali are surely more pertinent for both the OP and yourself to be worried about.You don't see any SL posting topics about your regions on an almost daily basis.There's more to your interest in SL than either of you will let on.

Boy, these Bon kids are obsessed with JSL. They're a bunch of shameless hyena eating buffoons.

The last time I made a topic about SL was about the isaaq odey, and the one before that I can hardly remember. Now compared that to the tons of Jubbaland related threads, or FG related threads, you can't even compare them. Also, SL is a unique case, there is a whether they will join the union or not, whether they will get recognition or not question always hanging in the air. For someone who pays attention to politics, its a damn interesting story, and every update needs to be analyzed and looked at. S'net is after all about discussions and I don't limit what topics I discuss.

How the hell is this a good thing for Somalia? I think some people have way too much pride and sometimes pride ruins everything. Somalilandta laguu sheegi waa uun dad somali ah just like the somalis you find on the other end of of whatever boarder that divides the two(don't think there is one tho).

Ps. Why do some of you feel the need to ascribe yourselves with political leaders? If there are tensions btwn the men who are in charge, does it follow that shacab people like yourselves should also be divided? siyaasad aside, dhamaan soomaali baad wada tihiin, taas ogaada. Don't let siyaasad consume you so low that you being to hate each other. just an advise.

but seriously its a badly kept secret that siilanyo and Hassan shiekh are on excellent terms and that a few weeks ago the British successfully sponsered an agreement that would lead to a union.

no my friend a full union was agreed , joining Somaliland to Somalia.
with allot of Qatari , UAE and Kuwaiti money ( i.e bribes to kulmiye elite and Hasan shiekhs innner circle) to lubricate the deal.
there was one catch however , there was 1 point that was non negotiable and this lead to daroods in the government to go apeshit and forced hassan shiekh to backdown.
A referendum would have to be held after 10 years, a referendrum within the borders of somaliland.
This was put their so that Siilanyo can sell the deal to the people.


The up coming meetings in qatar is so that the deal can be revived, the UK and US have sub-contracted the Qataris and Emaratis to try and solve this because they dont want to get too involved.
if it fails they will try to keep away from it, if it succeeds they will try to take over and take credit.

I`m all for a referendum.....as long as its clan by clan.

I heard about this too but through some Somali website so I didn't believe it. How certain are you that this is true?

That is a stupid deal though. Why 10 years? Why not just do the referendum now and get it over with? It makes no sense.

it was supposed to be 5 years but SL was pressured into 10 years.
Thanks to our Darood friends though, they gave siilanyo a get out of jail card.
He can now blame the failure on them and can get out of the may conference and others.
