Re: MSF closes operations in somalia
Thank you MSF for all the great you did for the Somali people. Your decision is what you had to do
This move doesn't only affect the south but also the peaceful Puntland and Somaliland.
If the government is serious in tackling security, you must execute all killers and rapists. No ifs, ands or buts. You must clamp down on all threats. You must not work against fine organizations like MSF. This a slap to the faces of people who dedicated all their time for the most unfortunate
The time for leniency is long over. Fight fire with fire

As alshabab seize and control MSF compound after they retreat, it makes you wonder what good is this mogadishu base government if they cannot go beyond the capital, if they have to be protect it from the people they suppose to ruled, a president that travels inside a mercenary tank, a police chief that gets slapped in his own country by African soldier, a Chief Justice that signs illegal document, a parliament leader who doesn't realize his position. Indeed this billion dollar A year NGO government is in business to sell the country and if it wasn't for regional authority like puntland and somaliland, this fitnah would've reach all over Somalia.

His ideas are great but he trusts in a people who don't have the same strategy.BlackRain wrote:If I remember Hassan Sheik's six or five promises included security. He gave too much authority to the intelligence. before this insecurity, al shabaab had support in two xamar districts but after the arrest of hassan dahir they controlling every street.
Indhocade has suggested to the intelligence sector to save hassan dahir who was trying to escape from godane. He wanted to compromise about hassan dahir suggesting that the govt has to reconcil with him through power sharing!! and what I'm saying is from dr hiraabe who is not a subclanist. When they brought him he was held at the airport by the especial troops who don't fall directly under the defense ministry and are managed by carecen, they treated them badly and this has caused outrage among his people. He is now in the govts hands but they can't release him as he refuses to change his believes.
Who you have to blame now? the system
the ethiopian troops has moved to get him and has warned them, there was no need for the govt to involve in this as he was going to end up between ethiopia and al shabaab.
Its funny that these guys were escaping from al shabaab and then want a power sharing while they don't control one street and now mohamed macalin the ex hizpul islam speaker has joined the nairobi based opposition!

This would have not been an issue under Geedi.
Aweys would have been pushing up the daisy`s by now.
Power sharing.....are you nuts?

Did they have credibility to begin with ? I used to do security consulting and risk assessments. One of my target areas was among my own qabiil. I went there. Reviewed the infrastructure. After all, why the fock would I want some innocent, well meaning foreigner who left his/her homeland to help, become victim to parasites ?
The thing lacking most in Somalia is impartial analysis and being swayed by emotions.
LOL - You could never tell my qabiil from my reports and enjoyed the respect of all parties, some more than others.
That is elementary stuff. Some of the shid I could teach the FG about security would surprise them.
Again, Geoseven, all this mambo jambo you see on SNET or in the Diaspora about "clan loyalty" is shid. Niccas will sell you out for a few bucks and the probability of getting focked over by your kin is much higher than shiishey.GeoSeven wrote:^ Respect AWAbdiWahab252 wrote:Jaidi,

Somalis are xoolo sometimes. Kill each other but what do you want from medical personnel trying to help you
I am naturally suspicious and don't mix business with qabiil

Re: MSF closes operations in somalia
This is sad. Hundreds of thousands of Somalis used their free medical services every year. From deliveries, to surgeries and checkups. These guys just didn't vaccinate people. They were practically Somalia's health care system.
I blame the authorities 100%. Why did they free that murderer? This is very disrespectful. Two of their foreign employees were murdered and the man gets released a few months later either because he came from a big powerful qabiil or the prison guard was his cousin. He should have been tied up on a pole and faced a firing squad that same day.

Haven't heard that word in a whiletightrope wrote:The decision comes after the release from prison of a Somali man convicted of killing two MSF staff. In December 2011 a Somali employee of MSF who recently learned his contract would not be renewed shot and killed a Belgian and an Indonesian worker at an MSF compound. Though the shooter was convicted and sentenced to 30 years, authorities released him from prison after only three months, MSF said.http://news.yahoo.com/doctors-without-b ... 34390.htmlIn a blunt statement, MSF denounced "extreme attacks on its staff in an environment where armed groups and civilian leaders increasingly support, tolerate, or condone the killing, assaulting, and abducting of humanitarian aid workers."
"In choosing to kill, attack, and abduct humanitarian aid workers, these armed groups, and the civilian authorities who tolerate their actions, have sealed the fate of countless lives in Somalia," said Dr. Unni Karunakara, MSF's international president.

He worked for them but was laid off. They didn't have the money to keep him. He takes out his gun and kills two of the foreigners working there. I recall it wasn't even the foreigners who laid him off but a Somali who managed the site.quark wrote:Not currently.Gabre wrote:Very sad stuff, I don't think there is anyone to fill this vacuum.
