As alshabab seize and control MSF compound after they retreat, it makes you wonder what good is this mogadishu base government if they cannot go beyond the capital, if they have to be protect it from the people they suppose to ruled, a president that travels inside a mercenary tank, a police chief that gets slapped in his own country by African soldier, a Chief Justice that signs illegal document, a parliament leader who doesn't realize his position. His ideas are great but he trusts in a people who don't have the same strategy.

He gave too much authority to the intelligence. before this insecurity, al shabaab had support in two xamar districts but after the arrest of hassan dahir they controlling every street.

Indhocade has suggested to the intelligence sector to save hassan dahir who was trying to escape from godane. He wanted to compromise about hassan dahir suggesting that the govt has to reconcil with him through power sharing!! and what I'm saying is from dr hiraabe who is not a subclanist. When they brought him he was held at the airport by the especial troops who don't fall directly under the defense ministry and are managed by carecen, they treated them badly and this has caused outrage among his people. He is now in the govts hands but they can't release him as he refuses to change his believes.

the ethiopian troops has moved to get him and has warned them, there was no need for the govt to involve in this as he was going to end up between ethiopia and al shabaab.

Did they have credibility to begin with ? I used to do security consulting and risk assessments. One of my target areas was among my own qabiil. I went there. Reviewed the infrastructure. Looked around and wrote a report. I recommended NOT to proceed with posting foreign staff there. Folks got upset at me but I'd rather be disliked by tolkey than to risk my reputation.

After all, why the fock would I want some innocent, well meaning foreigner who left his/her homeland to help, become victim to parasites ?

The thing lacking most in Somalia is impartial analysis and being swayed by emotions.

You can open your security consulting company and write reports for the govt, train the official staffs...this is what my friends do but they haven't established yet very well though they met the president and the pm and the first thing they did was banning to carry mobiles in the offices.

This is sad. Hundreds of thousands of Somalis used their free medical services every year. From deliveries, to surgeries and checkups. These guys just didn't vaccinate people. They were practically Somalia's health care system.

I blame the authorities 100%. Why did they free that murderer? This is very disrespectful. Two of their foreign employees were murdered and the man gets released a few months later either because he came from a big powerful qabiil or the prison guard was his cousin. He should have been tied up on a pole and faced a firing squad that same day.

The decision comes after the release from prison of a Somali man convicted of killing two MSF staff. In December 2011 a Somali employee of MSF who recently learned his contract would not be renewed shot and killed a Belgian and an Indonesian worker at an MSF compound. Though the shooter was convicted and sentenced to 30 years, authorities released him from prison after only three months, MSF said.

In a blunt statement, MSF denounced "extreme attacks on its staff in an environment where armed groups and civilian leaders increasingly support, tolerate, or condone the killing, assaulting, and abducting of humanitarian aid workers."

"In choosing to kill, attack, and abduct humanitarian aid workers, these armed groups, and the civilian authorities who tolerate their actions, have sealed the fate of countless lives in Somalia," said Dr. Unni Karunakara, MSF's international president.

He worked for them but was laid off. They didn't have the money to keep him. He takes out his gun and kills two of the foreigners working there. I recall it wasn't even the foreigners who laid him off but a Somali who managed the site.
