Deeqo, whats wrong dee don't the shrib people live in Banaadir too..so I think it's safe to lumb it under the banadiri genre :lol:

To me Banadiri songs are the best Somali songs. And when we are talking about Banidiri songs we MUST always mention Zulfa and Killer because these two were the Michael Jackson of Banadiri songs.

"Geesiyoow nin kuu gafay maa guuleesaha" - Zulfa

The queen of Banadiri Music has to be Mama Faduma Qaasim Hilowle alla ya raxma. Then we can't forget the work of Lul Jeylaani and Mariza Carpone.

The "queens" for sure were Luul Jeylaani & Mama Faaduma (AUN).

Marissa was an actress. I don't think she ever sang. She used to lip-syn songs in the movies, mostly songs by Luul.
