To make matters scary is that their offsprings that came to Hargeisa when they were 7 are now 19 years old ..they sound so local, no accent and they look like any other Somali, national security threat

Yes, those who neighbour Borana Oromos tend to speak Oromo. Mostly in Ethiopia, not sure about Northern Kenya. Assuming they speak Somali there.

You can tell them apart.

KabaToleWaalan and abdi.ismail close your borders they are creeping up on you insidiously. God knows they have the numbers to overthrow us. We have small numbers you know, the worst thing that could happen is if they plan on a coup d'etat. My friends if they ever control the military it is done for us, from there they will rule.
We Somalis need some schooling on military science asap.

Kind of. I've read bit here and there, but I'm not too familiar with clans and history of southern ethiopia/ northern kenya.

Interesting. Is this kind of assimilation happening elsewhere? I know Oromo and Somali have a long border with each other.

Yeah, the Gurgura in my area(Dire Dawa) pretty much only speak Afaan Oromo(younger generations). Many of the elder do as well but they still have a sense of Somaliness to them.
