Btw you skinny people it seems you would rather have a dead piece of land inhabited only by your fellow skinny cousins from the same sub sub sub qabiil as you as opposed to an open and thriving nation.
We need a situation where I can work in any country in East Africa without hassle now stop being negative.

Stay away from it indefinitely or try again to join in a few years time?Osob101 wrote:Almost everyone I know in this current Government I know is against any such idea. It is in our best interest to stay away from EAC as far away as we can. We do not have the right infrastructure and economy currently that is of equal level playing field. Heck even Ethiopia is staying away from it. Plus a Non-Somali can not own Land in Somalia.

Do we look out for the interest of the nation or for the interest of an individual like you? Lets put one thing into rest. Those articles about Somalia even contemplating of Joining the EAC was bogus since the former Government was a transitional and almost all the agreements it signed have become null and void an example would be handing SKA the airport operations for a 10 year term. Now when it comes to EAC, it is basically a Kenya idea with its two little midget countries which is Rawanda and Uganda which it is using. Look at Tanzania though still a member of EAC it is very smart and protective of its interest such as land ownership and people movement. We don't need people movement because if we as a nation truly unite with such a little population and endless mineral and other wealth than we can survive without EAC. Why do you think Ethiopia a much larger nation has not joined yet. EAC=Kenya. To Join EAC a referendum will have to take place and I can assure that 99% of Somalis will vote NO.

To your question, I wonder, if you were a native american back when Europeans first start arriving, would you rather have your underdeveloped land, or let your people become marginalized in an "open and thriving nation"? The land may be dead now, but I want my cousins to enjoy the fruits of it when it becomes prosperous.

Jasmine logic: I want a work visa in my native Kenya so I wish for Somalia to join EAC and in the process devastate her economy to facilitate my selfish needs.

It's funny how protective people get about Somalia but only when they think about "losing" it.
Ok, I though the application was by this government.Osob101 wrote:Joining the EAC was bogus since the former Government was a transitional and almost all the agreements it signed have become null and void
Re: Will Somalia be joining the East African Community?
No Somali Government has ever applied to join the EAC.

Unless its am Embassy or Land donated by the Government to a charity or organization to build things such as Hospitals etc etc, than a Non-Somali is not allowed to own any land.GIJaamac wrote:Are you saying an arab, african or white millionaire can't buy a land in Somalia ?
