I've always held the opinion that Somalia needs to face an issue such as this because I wanted them to finally unite and work together. But I am starting to come to the conclusion that will never happen. I was optimistic for no reason. I feel sorry for Somalia. It is ruled by self centered people with absolutely no love for anything but their stomachs and immediate family. What makes it worse is that they feel they are only accountable to their clans but at the same time don't do anything for them. I cannot only blame the people back home but all of you posting on this forum today. You are worse than them. You were born or came to the West at a young age and you have no sense of nationalism but compete against one another over qabiil. It has become so bad that I feel eyebrows would be raised if someone from gobol A claimed their love for gobol B and even entertain the idea of visiting or retiring there despite it not being the territory of their clan. People only stay in their clan sections for the most part.

No human rights violations with the magnitude of those committed in Lower Shabelle have taken place anywhere in Somalia. The painful fact is that these unspeakable inhuman violations have been perpetrated by other Somalis on peaceful Somali Communities. The people of Lower Shabelle who were not party to the Hawiye – Darood power struggle that brought down the Somali state. Unarmed and unprepared for conflict, they became easy prey for the militias from the central regions.

The past wrongs are being legitimized by this government contrary to expectations, the government is firmly and securely establishing the raiding groups as the permanent masters of Lower Shabelle.

There is no worse impunity than rewarding the perpetrators of human rights violations with becoming the administrative authority of the communities they victimized.

Ethiopia dam project might just be a blessing in disguise, the solution to get the raiding groups go buzzing back to their hell hole, the central regions.
