The problem with Avian flu isn't eating chickens! The concern is that the virus will mutate and move from human to human. If that happens, a very nasty pandemic could result. Remember what happened in 1918?

You know whats scary?
Influenza itself, the regular flu , originated from bird flu in chinese chikens
in the 14th century ming dynasty.
Large scale chiken farms only arrived in the ming dynasty, and viola you have the flu that spread all over the world.

Bingo. Hence the risk of movement from bird to human. obviously, with billions of mouths to feed, humans need chickens. Which means we have to calculate this risk and what to do about it.

But this is an airborne fast spreading infection.
Once it spread to a sizable population, then theres nothing that can be done.

Sure you can. Isolate and quarantine. In fact, I just saw a computer study on the subject. If governments act quickly to isolate and qurantine, before the virus can gain traction, it will burn itself out before it can be contracted by large numbers of people.
