There is no WAY hargeisa is 4X the size of Bosaso. I think it is at most 500,000

a district of hargeisa is bigger then boosaso. Burco is bigger then boosaso but bosaso might have more people then burco not by much though

Also Hargiesa is more densely built than Bosaso indicating higher population density.
The real difference between the two cities could be Hargeisa being 5X more populated.

I think that Bosaso will surprise many people in the next decade
BTW why leave out Galkacyo which is as large if not larger than Burco?? was that on purpose??

Xamar never reached the 1 million mark even in the days of Somali Republics when all the clan lived there, Xamar is Hawiye town now days and its less then 1 million when you take away the internally displaced who come there for food and shelter .

Xamar never reached the 1 million mark even in the days of Somali Republics when all the clan lived there, Xamar is Hawiye town now days and its less then 1 million when you take away the internally displaced who come there for food and shelter .

Assuming that at least 90% of the houses in Xamar are occupied then given the size of the city based on Google map images, it must house more 1.4 million people.
Actually the figure 1.4 million is my lowest estimation. The upper estimate could be up to 1.8 million people.
Also I am not separating between the permanent residents of the city and it's IDP's.

Anyway who the fuck cares which place or city is larger than the other? Actually I'd much rather prefer the town that I come from for example to be a small city than a huge one.

Djibouti Republic's population is over a million, per World Bank. 80% or 800,000 reside in Djibouti city and surrounding environs. Therefore, Djibouti is the second largest Somali city after Mogadishu. Hargeisa numbers are inflated due to counting camels/sheep on their way to the slaughterhouses in the GCC.

Again where are you getting these numbers from, because it sounds like they are straight from wikipedia. A quick glance at google map will tell you that Burco and Bosaso cannot be 400k ( and i doesnt matter how many people are cramped into each bedroom).

UNDP carried out their own study and estimated Mogadishu as 900,000. Hargeisa as 560,000 and Bosaso as 164,000. Now these are obviously nowhere near accurate but to jump from 560,000 to 1,000,000 is madness.
