"initially believing it to be a military transport"
millitary transports do not fly at 33,000 feet, in civilian air lanes,
over 300 planes fly that route daily.
The "evidence" for this is social media posting by supposed seperatists.
The US has no other evidence than the easily faked social media postings?
the 3 commanders of the Novorussian forces all denied these allegations, and the only group that has buk/SA-11 missiles deny that they have used them .
Now about the 2 SU-25's your kiev puppets are claiming that they have 100% proof that it was shot down by Russian missiles from inside Russia.
The Russians are not denying or agreeing with this claim, but it is highly likely.
If you were following this war you will know that just as the MH-17 was being shot down it was amidst a massive battle that was a devastating defeat for the Kiev regime, they planned to trap the retreating Novorussian forces near the Russian border but were instead trapped and destroyed by the "rebels" in conjunction with
Russian artillary fired from across the border.
The Russians told the kiev regime to stay away from the border or there will be consequences , they were serious.
This is why any planes that move close to the Russian border will be shot down not by rebels but by the Russians,
