Because more and more Somalis are leaving the West for the motherland and people wanna grab their piece of the pie before it's too lateOctavius wrote:I dont understand what the obsession is with owning land/house in Somalia/Somaliland when folks are paying rent for the house they live in here in the West.

Ok, but when you can't find any plots in your beloved xaafad, don't be running across the bridge looking for me huunoLillaahiya wrote:Anigo jigjig yar haysta maxaan dumbuluq iyo daantaas ku faliMethylamine wrote:So you're looking to buy land next year? 'Halal mortgages' in Europe have been proven not to be so 'Halal', they have complicated and sophisticated financial instruments that are same if not worst than 'ribaa'.Octavius wrote:^ There are several halal/affordable ways to finance a home purchase.
I wasnt talking about mortgages.SayyidUmar wrote:'Halal mortgages' in Europe have been proven not to be so 'Halal', they have complicated and sophisticated financial instruments that are same if not worst than 'ribaa'.Octavius wrote:^ There are several halal/affordable ways to finance a home purchase.
In fact the 'Halal mortgages' wave is the best thing that happen to the banking world since the Renaissance period which the 'The De Medici family' reforms on the banking laws which was anti-ribaa because of the Vatican anti-ribaa views before the thirteenth century. The De Medici family of Florence lobbied and pressured the Vatican to legalised interest and ribaa.
Now, since the 2007/8 'credit crisis' most if not all the populous in the western world have lost faith in Banks now 'halal mortgages' is the Bankstars answer to the 'credit crisis', because now they have what seems to be fair and equable mortgages.
These Bankstars are five steps ahead of you.
Going back to property my advise always buy cheap house that increases in price, preferably in a third world country, always pay in cash.
How is welfare haram.Machiavelli2 wrote:Welfare is far from halal and no one complains about it, but when it comes buying a decent home in a decent neighbourhood and raising your children away from bad peer influences in the projects, all the red flags of riba are raised. I have yet to see Somalis refusing welfare. In-fact they have to lie to the welfare authorities gain more.
House prices still rising but at a slower rate, it will take some miraculous intervention to burst the bubble, but hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.FAH1223 wrote:wait until the next economic collapse which will happen when the stock market goes up another 20%
real estate will drop again as it did in 2009
right now, real estate is back to its 2003-2004 levels

London property market is ridiculous, to even qualify for mortgage you need well over 6 figures and that is considered haram anyways.. A good 5 bed house in a nice area is about £2 million, and this even excludes a garden. Rip off Britain.
A better question is who are business owners, that is real wealth.
