I'm calling you stupid because any war involving nuclear weapons between Russia and the US ends in a mutually assured destruction. Even a baby can recognise that. They had their chance during the cold war and nothing happened. Any war between Russia and US will be via proxy or non-conventional e.g. economic sanctions. Anyways WW3 isn't going to happen. Here's why. As crazy as Putin is, he's also a smart diplomat and knows what he's doing. Ukraine isn't a NATO nation. Therefore they will most likely not be receiving help from NATO. NATO isn't going to defend a non NATO nation. If they do, every time one of the 28 members of NATO needs help and they deny them....their gonna look like the biggest assholes.

But a freak moon-sized asteroid could also hit the earth a month from now. At worst, things would return to Cold-war level mistrust and subterfuge. The US would beat Russia, but everybody would lose.

And Russia's economy is not "fucked". It is one of the biggest, if the biggest exporters of natural gas and oil most of which ends up in the west or China. I dare say nobody gives a shit about America's quarrel with the Ruskies. For the rest of the world, it's business as usual.
