bigger but not by much. Most of the missing land belongs to Karanle hawiye, dir, and Ogaden.
Karanle and dir land taken by Oromo state of Ethiopia, and Ogaden land in tana river county and isiolo county in Kenya.

The region should extend to the Bale mountains and Amhara Mountains.
nfd should extend as far south as Isiolo.

In the future....the mountains of central Ethiopia should form the natural border between Somalia and Ethiopia.

Are you saying Somaliweyn is even bigger than this? :damn:
Bale Mountians...isn't that deep into Oromo territory :lupe:

Yes......today it is Oromo land.....but once the Somali galbeed clans use to graze the foothills.
Somali's have been really messed up by colonialism.
The idea of seeking support from the invaders to defeat neighbouring clans began in this period......and continues up until the present day.

Bela mountains, Dire Dawa, Harar and others are all lands have for some time now been permanently lost to the Oromo. Better move on and make use of the current lands.

Sxb......only Allah (swt) is permanent.

I'm not foreseeing the return of our historical lands anytime soon.
All I'm pointing out is what we have lost so far during the last 100 years or so.
furthermore, the two states that are in possession of our lands are time bombs waiting to go off.

yh ur right only god knows.
I foresee the Ethiopians will implant more Oromos ( a friendlier population) to curb unrest, perhaps Jigjiga is next. For example an upsurge of ONLF activtity or an attempt by Somalia to restart Greater Somalia.

Bale province was part of Hararghe up until the late 50's before it was split from the rest of Hararghe and made into its own province and it was dominated by Somalis up until the 70's but after the war Somalis left the province enabling the Oromos to move in and later when the region became part of Oromia in 1995, the remaining Somalis were pushed out.

Historically there was a muslim Sultanate in the area around Bale mountains dominated by Somalis.

Dire Dawa is still majority Dir. and Jigjiga is pure Absame.
Believe it or not, Dire Dawa is the second largest city in Ethiopia and Jigjiga is the third largest.
Out of the three largest cities in Ethiopia, two are somali dominated.

Well in Dire Dawa the Oromo ethnic group number over 156,000 which is 46% of population, followed by Somalis who number 80,000 which 24% of population, third in line is Amhara which number 68,000 which is 20% of the population.
So no somali majority.

The future is in our own hands as Somali's.
With our natural resources we have the potential to rise like a phoenix and become an industrial/technology powerhouse.
The Kenyans and Ethiopians will still be famine prone and living in shanty towns for the next hundred years.

what road we take is up to us......so far it doesn't look too promising. :?

Ethiopia hararghe is very mixed u have Afars who reach there very minority and Oromo Afran qallu and Ciise gadabursi mostly Dir Clans and with some isaaq such as barsuug the oromo are still more than Somalis, there but not by much. 1970 Diridhabe was 65% Somali 35% Oromo and Amhara. Today its not the case any more.
