Re: When will somalis get tired of qabiil?
For many somalis qabil and fadhi ku dirirism is a hobby like sex, playing football, reading books, etc.qabil is a social stimulant like khat.the brain is probably sending all kinds of signals and some people probably receive stimulation or pleasure from qabil debates.Qabil also plays a social, economic and politcal function back home, acting as the greatest form of social collectivism force back home. Somali men back home rarely read books, excercise,go to sporting events, watch movies etc.the most important ritual after going to mosque is to sit at the local cafe and debate about qabil and politics.there is actually a qabilism revival due to technological advancements .I am baasto the anthropologist.

before somalis turned into hyenas and apes, qabiil was used as Allah intended it. while in our time it was used for rape, robbery, death, hunger and humiliation, so dont blame darood, hawiye or isaaq but blame the monkeys that use these names in vein.
ps without qabiil we will be infiltrated and subjugated by oromo.

Doubt the unaspiring individual who's obsessed with qabiil would find time to be preoccupied with it if he was a heart surgeon alternating between hospitals. We need enlightenment.

Geo, no dear. enlightenment ruined Christianity in Europe. Do u actually want to see 'Enlightened' Somalis walking around asking does God exist and never even mentioning "Inshalaah" or "Mashalaah" --basically Godless?? Oh wait a minute--I think u do want that. Just like u, u want them to turn out just like u!

Basra, what prove do you have for the existence of any supernatural power? I have a feeling deep down you're an atheist, an agnostic or just a confused soul like mine.

Nonsense.being a successful individual has no correlation with being less qabilist.being more educated also doesnt mean you are less likely to qabilist.both are fallacies. Qabilism is for the atheist, the medina graduate, the poor, the rich, the surgeon, the illiterate.every somali bar a few is a qabilist in the heart.GeoSeven wrote:Doubt the unaspiring individual who's obsessed with qabiil would find time to be preoccupied with it if he was a heart surgeon alternating between hospitals. Osman dear---at the very basic--I will tell u that God in the Quran is stated that he has made Humans in his 'image'. Now, take this declaration and put it in context. We as humans are builders right? Look at our world, we build a lot of things. Lets take the most complicated thing that purports as an intelligence. The computer. It is has a chip, it has a brain, it has a function. In fact, computer will soon replace humans. Now, will u say, this is an amazing accomplishment? Well, then ask yourself this question---based on that knowledge alone--wont u also concur--"someone" or 'some super natural power' created this is clever man who built the computer?

Basra, admit it. You and I know nothing about issues of theology.

Basra, you are damn right. They do not differ much because of the spatial/historical origins but there are some profound differences; on the concept of god, on creation etc there are some differences.
I don't know much about the bible (I read it when I was in school but with suspicion but, genesis was the first thing they told us) and the Quran ( I went to dugsi but did not understand it); but I can say with certainity that there are major differences. Otherwise, they would be no need for two faiths.

Of course, there is core difference between the bible and the Quran; but majority is the same.
for example I remember distinctly being in dhugsi the image of God concept. And I was amazed to see Christians say the same thing.

Let us leave theology to those who know it. How are you doing? What can we do to improve the lives of our people? Any remedy to the malady of tribalism and its offshots?Basra- wrote:Jaale

P.s. Genesis was the first thing they taught in my school when I was kid.
