well, african american historian... henry luis, jr., got me all excited about the nubians. while doing his "wonders of the african world," he talked about how black america was "obsessed" with nubians in the 1960s.

cawar, well... the nubians are hard to pin point. the early nubians we know of are the badarians.... who lived about 5000bc. but we know they existed before that... we just don't know who they were... because there are no writings Sad

gurey, wallahi i'm impressed Smile you know history.

ok... i don't know why everyone is dissing the arabs. we may not be arabs... but arabs have a huge, and rich culture... that dates for thousands of years. one must remember the arabs of today are many people put together, including -- egypt, assyria, (syria) babylonia, (iraq)phoenica, (lebanon)... etc...

but no matter what happened, no one has ever ... ever ... reached the great complex of civilization that the nubians have reached. for a long time, black people were denied their history... that it was black africa... not 'white' egypt or greece... which brought civilization Smile

also, one must keep in mind, we are the people the ancient egyptians called "khon hen nefer" or "the begininning of the perfect order"... as puntites. and to this day, the walls of egypt are decorated with our own history. (there is a somali queen... "caga weyn"... who holds her garment the same way somali women hold their 'dirac' today. amazing, wallahi, how some things are timeless.)

so no matter 'where' we come from, we are great Very Happy
