I agree, it makes no sense for Somalia to damage its relations with the Arabs. In addition to that somalia has no legal bases to claim Socotra; in a time where disputes are solved by courts rather than force somalis would be making a futile commitment to take Socotra,
It still interesting to see how close Abd al kuri is to the Puntland coast ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abd_al_Kur ... l_Kuri.PNG
Compare that to its distance to Yemen. The whole thing smacks of colonialism to me.

I don't know why you guys are talking about oromo lands and yemeni lands etc. These people have come to our lands throughout history, so I don't know why you are hesitant about claiming theirs. At the end of the day, the land belongs to the people who are able to take and protect it. If I had the power I would take back not just K5 but Oromia, the danakil all the way upto and including teh simien mountains.

What's with the obsession with that Island Socotra or whatever it's called? I've heard it mentioned here several times.

I looked it up on Google Earth and it's just a patch of a dry land and nothing grows there. I don't believe anyone even lives there. LooL it's not like we don't have enuff empty lands already.

Won't work, at least develop your regions regions and then come to the table table. Can't have bunch of starving people wanting to unit unite with each other, it will rock the fragile ecoeconomy we have.

It's arid, but it has amazing flora and fauna that is not found anywhere else.

Who gives a fuck about fauna and flora. It's about strategy and economics. If Somalis have Soqotra and Djibouti we control the Bab al Mandeb and vital red sea trade route.
