Don't you think that's an unhealthy view to have on the relationship between fathers and daughters?

IT is not a Somali father thing, it is cultural. Women are valued more than men, and families will pay some form of compensation to marry her which is why a typical Somali father is less concerned with his daughters than his boys. Your daughters will eventually be approached by suitors, compare that to men, It is almost nonexistent. No sane Somali family will ever come and ask you for your son and for a good reason. I am glad we don't practice that South East Asian culture where a woman literally buys herself a husband.
