For Somalis, every Sub-Saharan African that is not Ethiopian, North Sudanese, or Somali is a considered a Bantu or as they locally call them 'jareer'. Sort of like how white people view all Middle Easterners as ''Arabs''...

Google the new elected nigerian president and his family and tell me whether they look bantu. And northern nigerians are about 110million, 95percent muslims.

U are absolutely right, those are pure hausas, unmixed with fulanis, tauregs or shuwa arabs. Who are generally darkskin. But due to lot of admixture now, its very difficult to differentiate a hausa from fulanis, They share almost same culture,food and religion. Most fulanis in the northwest have become hausanized and can't speak the fulfude language, that's how the term hausa/fulanis came to be. They are also some minority ethnic groups in the north which has diversed look. The rate of mixture is on the high side that mixed hausas have outnumbered the pure hausas.

Fulani are a mix between berber and west african!



You can imagine the orignal berbers being somali one could speculate that fulani are indeed mixed west africans & somalis!

only one clan is barely pure!

I think Fulanis came from the Green Sahara period and migrated south when it started drying. This is most likely what made them different from other West Africans.
