How can he be Habar Magaadle , Harti or Marehan when those were called later when the conquest was already going. They joined as Muslims not for their kin. Keep claiming, but the truth will eventually be published. The truth is already documented in Amoud University.
Marehan lay claim to a other imam, that's where the confusion is. Aabo Siad had a great time brainwashing his children.
He was Madaxweyne Dir or Mandaluug Dir. They were on the forefront and lost the most numbers during the war, while other clans that joined in did it mostly for the sole purpose of looting and returned to their homelands.

Ahmed Gurey should be played by a Somali bantu. But to counter the predictable reaction of Somalis the director should be white.

It doesn't matter which clan the actors are, as Somalis who hail from the Dir tribe look no different from Somalis who are Darood. The actors are playing a character, and their tribal origin is irrelevant. It really isn't that difficult to figure out.jalaaludin5 wrote:Well it will save as lot time discussing what clan will play what part.Kaafiye wrote:Stop behaving like a troll. Kaafiye
There are lots of thing that are irrelevant to Somalis and Who hail from what qabiil is not one of them.

What kind of faulty logic is that? Again: When it comes to the actors, it doesn't matter what qabiil they are. All that matters is if they resemble the character they're portraying.jalaaludin5 wrote:Kaafiye

Hence if they decide to make a movie about Barack Obama and his life, they will hire an actor who resembles Obama. He doesn't have to be a Kenyan Luo with a White mother. It doesn't matter what his origin is, so long as he resembles the character.
That's the point I was getting across. Ahmed Gurey can be played by a Hawiye or a Gadabuursi for all we care, so long as the actor properly plays his role.

well most excavatiion has been taken place in waqoyi galbeed! so if they dig around in puntland im sure they will find additional few artifacts!Bilis wrote:Yes, great idea.![]()
A similar historical film about the Dervishes was already released in the eighties. It was Somali directed and featured one of Sayyid Hassan's actual descendants (not Muse Hassan, though). The movie apparently cost over $1 million USD to make and included hundreds of extras, so it was a major production.
Eventually, once further excavations in Somalia and elsewhere in the Horn yield more Puntite artefacts, a film on the ancient Land of Punt would make sense.

But could prove to be interesting movie to renact to life of the puntites!
Personally i would make comic much like the avatar the last airbender somali version! i think somali history & culture has so much uniquness to it that i could be entertaining to put in movies & cartoons like the chinese and japanese do! we could rather capitalize on it!
