If you are here talking about how young you look, it tells me the opposite is true. Looking young is a privilege that comes with zero benefits, except being desired by the old.

Oh Basra, bless your oversuspicious heart. It's the incontrovertible truth mon ami. I'm sure even you can't deny that many Somali women have age defying looks. I just find it hilarious when an old somali lady calls me habo when she could be my ayeeyo (chronologically speaking). I mean I know she looks young by all appearances, but she's old enough to give birth to my hooyo. Why not just embrace your age.

The cadaans think I am atleast 10 years younger than my age. if a Somali asks me my age, n I ask the to take a guess, they tend to add atleast 5years on top. Soomalida ma jeclo qofka in uu yaraado. Even here you will see a lot of the time if you tell a member your real age, they go "come on" :comeon:

I remember being confused for 26 when I was 19 sometime in the early 90s. I remember when I first came to America, some women came to our house asking my mother if I found a job since I was the oldest and in that room were siblings who were 10 years older than I am. I always looked older than I was.

White people start to look like shit around 30. Something just happens to them around that age.

For Africans and Asians that moment comes around 40.

Adali. I'm not here to brag. It's clear that being perceived as younger has its drawbacks as well. When it comes to not being accorded with the same level of respect as your peers and/or elders, I don't think you are given it. It's also infantilizing at times. I wanted to stress the point that Somali women age well physically speaking. The standard Somali diet however would age someone tremendously (internally). My personal ethos is self-care. And I do believe part of people aging prematurely is attributed to dietary and stress factors. I sparingly use make up (only for special occasions) as it contributes to accelerated aging. In addition, adequate sleep, staying hydrated, eating clean, regular physical activity and genetic factors have all coalesced to contribute to my outward appearance. Then again I'm 29, so it's not a huge leap. Just say Masha'Allah and call it a day. :win:

29 to be precise. If I had the luxury of faking my age I would. Alas, an authentic birth certificate that's time stamped 4:02 am CT time signed by the attending physicians with my foot print, makes me compelled to tell the truth. If I could have shaved four years off like many others I would have done so in a heartbeat. Nah, that would be horrible as retirement age would be 69. I think they might raise it to 70, so more like 74.

People who dont know me always usually think im in middle school! I really hate being babyfaced, nobody takes you seriously. People because of it assume im some helpless immature retard. i noticed how you look governs peoples perception of you strangely enough.

although it has it perks that you can get out of trouble pretending to be younger than you are. and get child tickets at a buss or get a warning because they think you are younger than 14.

i find it always funny that people 2 or 3 years younger than me are mistaken for my olders siblings or cousins.

A: When I shave I look younger of course, but I look my age other than that.

Note:

It's the cowardly men that are intimidated by educated and older women. Have these so called "muslim" men even studied the prophet's(saw) life?

Bunch of spineless and brainless chickens. It's in your favor to stay away from these sour grapes, for they will definitely not benefit you and you are befitting for a king, as you are a queen.

Also to all you spineless chickens, read up on László Polgár.

I look young for my age. I'm a goofy individual so looking young allows to get away with acting a fool. And it also takes off some of the pressure that comes with not being married at my age.

I don't mind that you lie, it is a better zero carb option that more women should pick up instead of burying their grief with cupcakes.

Adali I realize when one has become an inveterate liar about having numerous alleged girlfriends on rotation, it becomes hard for them to actually discern fact from fiction and they start projecting, assuming the worst of others :? . (1) I don't have a zero-carb diet. I have only adopted paleo, which isn't low carb. Unless you consider sweet potatoes, which are indeed starchy (low carb). (2) I did this because of an actually long standing autoimmune condition and it has shown to have health ameliorating effects in my case. Perhaps, its anecdotal but it works. This is the very reason why I have persisted on it for so long. End of story. I have already discussed this at length in my previous thread. :eat:
