I couldn't disagree with you more. Aniga oo nin Surre ah, oo dadkiisa iyo tolkiisa jecel, wallahi I have more in common with a Darood/Hawiye man who holds onto his Muslim and Somali identity, than a Surre man who denounces Islam and that which makes us Somali (language and culture, shared physical traits and genetics). And by your logic, Isaaqs are actually not keeping it real, or they wouldn't for "Somalilaandnimo." If you're going to criticize every Somali qabiil, I don't know why you're excluding Isaaq.

By keeping it real I was referring to how Somaliland and Isaaq are one and the same from a Realpolitik perspective. Harti and Gadabursi are, in general, not fervent supporters of Somaliland. If Somaliland is recognised, anyone who is not Isaaq will by default be a second class citizen in my opinion.

Nonetheless, I am a firm believer in self determination and every clan should be left to manage its own affairs. The interests of Isaaqs are best served in a one clan state of their own. The Gadabursi and Harti should given the choice of making up their own minds.

Lastly, I never once stated I would side with a Gaal Surre over a Muslim Somali from another clan. Nonetheless, if I was given a choice between putting a bullet in the head of a Somali that threatens my clan directly or a random Xabashi soldier in K5, I would empty my magazine in the Somali. Ethiopians opened their border to my folk when they were being attacked by their 'fellow' Somali and if it wasn't for their bullets, we wouldn't have got a chance at vengeance. I know where my priorities lie.
