Mashallah! Bosaso airport IS a game changer because of the development taking place there like the enlarging of the Port which has started btw and expanding of the city as ppl come all over to set up businesses and buy up land to live in their summer get away villas.

All this could happen by having a large diaspora which I don't know the exact numbers but heard it is fairly large in the U.S., Canada, UK, EU, Arabta, Asia, and Africa. So, its now going to be down to utilising that base.

If we be logical, it will not be a game changer because right now small population of the Somali people go to PL and surrounding regions.

It will sure make things easier for PLanders but the bulk of the population is still around Banadir and Waqooyi Galbeed. So Mogadishu and Hargeisa will continue to dominate their usual sectors.

I doubt even any foreign airliners will sign up for Bosasso simply because its not business viable.

Let's wait a year I know right now reer PL is excited lakin time will reveal the truth for them.

It will be an airport that serves between Hargeisa-Mogadishu for people going to PL, Erigabo, Galkacayo.

Actually the reason why Hargeisa or mogadisho has more visitors is because of the lack of an airport in puntland. I know loads of puntlanders that travel through hargeisa instead. Also all the large planes couldn't land in PL because of the lack of runway. Not to mention it was far more expensive to go PL than anywhere else somalia.

Now that this airport is by far the most modern in somalia, puntlanders will travel from across the world and flock home, it will be easier cheaper to travel. We all know airlines will favour this airport due to its modern runway. It will be the transit point for flights from dubai then to the rest of Somalia.

Puntlands diaspora is really big across the world not to mention the largest somali community outside of somalia minnesota is literally Mjland.

It has been extremely hard for Puntlanders to travel to Puntland due to really bad transportation routes.
Back in 2012 when I went, I went from Dubai to Djoubti to Berbera than all the way to Mogadishu and than caught a plane to Galkayo.
If that is not ridiculous I don't know what is. Spent 10 hours inside Somalia before reaching my final destination beyond exhausting. Now it is gonna be 3-hours direct in air-conditioning pure comfort. I call that a game changer, and Puntlanders being the largest Somali group in the Diaspora will be flocking back home soon.
