The diversity in Somalia is artificial. Even the tribes thing is mostly artificial. It is possible for one to be born of tribe A while having most of his/her family belonging to tribe B just because his/her father, paternal grandfather, and so on etc belongs to tribe A.
I would go on and say that most Somalis' family line have been diluted enough to state that any tribe specific characteristics doesn't exist. There is definite north/south divide but not much more than that.
This is pretty much same as giving yourself a red badge and hating on anyone who doesn't have red badge.
What's even worse is that we allowed foreigners to exploit those artificial divisions and today, we're still allowing them to exploit that.
As salamu alaykum, are you Muslim? As for the rest of your post I have no idea what you are talking about. There are huge differences between the tribes in both appearance and culture. I myself come from a tribe that has Arabian roots and am closer to other Arabs culturally and by blood than to other tribes especially those who have always lived in the South. I find it strange how a white ajnabi like you can comment so boldly on our culture but all you have really done was exposed your ignorance!

I'm Somali.
None of what I said was untrue.
It's quite apparent you didn't read my post fully. You spoke of the blood, I explained that one can have blood that mostly belongs to tribe B but yet s/he still belongs to tribe A just because his father, paternal grandfather, etc just happened to be from tribe B. This doesn't matter anyway as Somali's blood has been diluted with neighbouring clans enough times that the differences are mostly geographic now.
Arab roots doesn't matter when your neighbouring tribes also has them. The main point is that the differences are mostly geographical.
End of the day, Somalis are still one ethnic, one culture, and one language. The tribe thing are mostly artificial.
