That might be the way YOU see things but that certainly isn't the way the average Somali sees things. Somalis are notoriously provisionally minded seeing everything through local clan lenses. Very few will answer the call for international Jihadism which is what Alshabaab is peddling. Alshabaab doesn't give a hoot about AMISOM or any foreigner invading or pillaging Somalia as they don't recognize international borders or nationalism. They only care about fulfilling their perverted international Jihadism. This is why people are abandoning them in droves and is now reduced to a refuge for some disgruntled clans.

Sure AS is not righteous and their jihaad is not really a jihad, but why are you using "Jihaad" as some thing horrible? That is if you are a muslim.

Jihad as used by Jihadi groups like ISIS and Alshabaab means conquest, plunder and slave taking. So, yes, in that sense it has negative connotation just like crusading has negative connotation.

Not leaving Somalia puts you at a disadvantage - you never had the opportunity see and live outside you home country. When you do you'll gain an appreciation for different ways of living, different values and different people.

I believe in jihaad as the Americans believe in their army! You could put it in the worst contexts but I won't bite it.

Somali people are resilient and used to vacating towns often. They are also used to wars and death for a while now. It is the Kenyans who are not used to this and afraid of death. Willingly or not they will leave Somalia and if they do not Alshabab should continue embarrassing them like the useless cowards they are. Alshabab needs to wage an all out attack on their biggest base and finish them off, capture some and kill them on camera and post it for the world to see. They should do the same to the Ethiopians and AU as well.
