Why is borama killing all the dogs

started to adopt them and move to USA some one to adopt them.

In the West, they have a hunting season for deer, and the idea behind it is to keep their population under control. It seems the effort of reer Boorama is population control by reducing the number of these dogs significantly, so the Muslim people in that town can live peacefully there. The methods may be drastic, but I fully understand the sentiment of reer Boorama.

For the people who are criticizing Borama officials, if your concerns are genuine, reach out to international organizations and have them take these dogs. If you're not going to do that, then shut up; let reer Boorama deal with their local issues. Too many Westernized fellas in this joint.

After I saw this video. I have devoloped a soft spot for dogs I didnt have before. Somalis in general have very bad image of dogs and wouldnt shy from erasing them from entire towns because of reputation or any other silly reason.

Those dogs are rampant in the city they breed quickly and run around everywhere. Most of them are harmless but there are aggressive ones that bite people and they could be carrying rabies and other diseases. You want to go and adopt them all as pets? If no shut up and keep it moving.

So you thinking killing them of is the solution, why not immunise them in their droves and get supplies from NGO's and those animal charities there are many out there.

Killing masaakiin defenceless animals like this is crazy subhan allah. This is why somalia is doomed, i've been there people have no compassion for anything even the cats get killed and are dying of hunger and thirst.

I understand where you are coming from, it's extremely barbaric thing to do but that's only so when you are not the one who is facing this problem and have the luxury to have such sympathy and care about the welfare of animals. It's a first world luxury many people back home don't have.

Forget dogs and cats people are dying sxb , and if it came to between a dog and a goat for any Somali, the dog is gonna get it simple as that.
Immunisation and asking NGO's for help is not as easy or as practical as you think loool. Who is gonna immunise dogs thousands of dogs ahahah. Somalis can't even immunise their young ones niyaw.

i get the problems these dogs bring, disease, biting people, i get it they're a menace still people have no right to kill them. if a dog bites someone then the authorities should put that dog now, not every single dog.

The money its costing to buy that much poison could be used in other ways such as creating a dog pound or finding ways of getting cadaan foreigners to take them.

I am also concerned about the cuqubo this will bring to the good people of Borama, you cannot kill 350 masaakin dogs in mass killings and expect god to not react. No matter what they are living beings created by god.

This is not to bring the population down this is to exterminate all dogs in that area and make them extinct.

Saw that video posted on another website yesterday & well.... Some things just can't be unseen.

Kudos to the team for rescuing the dog but no amount of money could make me pick up something that looked like that.

kudo, I always have soft spot for animals, if I wasn't lazy I would adopt a puppy. but too lazy to walk them and pick up their poop.

I stick with cats cause they are independents. all you do is clean their little and give them food and water. when I move to my own place I will have one inshallah.

I would love a puppy especially for my kids who love dogs, but due to somali streotype of dogs i cant get one. First of all no somali will enter my house and they will call me gaalo, so my dream of owning a dog is dead

I think it's only when they are wet or you come in contact with their saliva. There are so many contradicting rulings on dogs in both conservative Islam and the liberal ones.


Anyway we use own two dogs back in the days, Jimmy and Jidkax. Jimmy the most intelligent, fastest and loyal dog I have ever seen. Going bakayle&sakaaro hunting with him in the mountains surrounding Borama, is just a memory I will never forget

I doubt I would ever get a dog in the west but as soon as I go back home, I am definitely gonna get a puppy and raise it.

Will name it Games looool . In honour of the legend that's Games
