If you say your somali to anybody usually they think your pirate or terrorist affiliate, the somali image and reputation has been destroyed already by zoomalia.

To the OP- why don't you stop using YouTube and Twitter - most of the people who make those comments never had any real interaction with Somalis -just what they read on daily mail and rubbish media outlet- so their opinion shouldn't make you depressed - you're giving them too much credit and they are so not worth it.

Well in the united states it started when the movie black hawk down came out 2001 then captain philip in 2013 and a lot youth in america joined shabaab that's in news also so all the bad media coming from zoomalia has damaged the somali image in the usa. americans base people on what they see in the media, so if say your somali their going laugh at you and call u pirate atleast and a terrorist affiliate is off the bat.
