The sooner people admit to this, the better it is, for everyone. I can unashamedly say that I'm not sure I'm the parenting type. I don't know what it would take to change my mind. :notsure:

Nothing wrong with being a parent, u just have to be ready for them. I am planning on having kids, no more than 2 iA.

Futurist and Hyperactive, in Somali culture, if u are a man and don't have kids, dadka weey idinla yaaban.

Don't you want to have someone to take care of you in old age, or want grandchildren?

There's a difference between having kids and being suited to parenting. Personally i'm not suited to kids & parenting. As a matter of due course, it is more probable than not that I will have kids. 2 or 3 iA. But that doesn't mean I am suited to parenting.

That's what carers, care-homes and independent retirement villages are for. Why would you burden your children like that? Isn't that the most selfish things that you could do.

Ajar in washing an 90 yr old saggy ass? I would tell them saaqidiinyahow orodoo shaqo yeesha :damn: :dead: :deadrose:

I'd rather they search ajar from helping and feeding destitute women and orphan children. I'd rather that they search for ajar through pursuing medicine, academia or research so they can help thousands of people and make a tangible contribution to the whole world. I'd rather they start a charity to help the poor people in Somalia, Somali Galbeed and NFD. I am all for the greatest good for the greatest number.

But there is nothing like the ajar you get from the Baarinimo of the Parents (I don't know what you call that in English ).

The home-care workers beat the sh-t out of elderly people in the nursing homes. If it is possible, it is better for older people to stay with their children provided they have children.

Why should others be tasked with washing your 90 year old saggy ass? It is not the state's responsibility to look after you and pay your care costs. You do know there is such a thing as healthy aging right? You can be like those Okinawans, who tend to their gardens, grow their own vegetables, cook for themselves well into their 90s. Aim for that instead of being deathly scared of aging.
