Why use k instead of g in the word aniga, from your writing one can tell you don't even speak Somali never mind reading it and writing.Hyperactive wrote:tani anika ima danto, mahey wah barta!!

verbally, i dont even try, cause previously my dad called me "oromo speaking somali" . so i do understand and reply in Arabic what o understood.
still trying to pronouce "maka"aa" still cannot get it right according my somali friend. the makhaarij words in somali is really hard and even harder to get it correct pronounsation at older age.

It's the home and up bringing your family is pro everything Arabic I guess. Last time I was Somalia I was only 4 years old , most of my life was spent in Saudi and Canada and yet my Somali is perfect, because of family the rule at home was to speak Somali.Hyperactive wrote:verbally, i dont even try, cause previously my dad called me "oromo speaking somali" . so i do understand and reply in Arabic what o understood.

naag is married, been married.
Gabadh / Gawar = Lady
Naag = Woman (considered rude in Waqooy culture to say naag straight forward
Inan = girl
Inan means also boy but there is a difference with regards to plural form

Hyper I sense from your writing that your somali vocabulary is fluent, you might struggle with pronunciation and grammar, but from the way you construct sentences it's very easy to see you are fluent,I'm convinced you are better then fish and chips in western, not on level with folks likeX-playa, this guy is on 100 % native level,in fact he would be able to outspeak alot of other native speakers. But Keep up the good work, and pick up a book to learn some of the more basic the spelling rulesHyperactive wrote:well, my mother is not somali speaker and i didnt have somali family around us.

It's bizarre your mother should have learned Somali am assuming at least she was around Somali for tow decades. It's matter of choice.Hyperactive wrote:well, my mother is not somali speaker and i didnt have somali family around us.
My mom never spoke Arabic although she was in Saudi since 1976, it's pure arrogance from her point of view Arabic is not highly regarded, I remember for almost 13 years she never even talked or visited her Arab neighbors, it's the old nomadic Somali culture she has.
I remember one time an Arab young couple moved next door to us, the Arab husband came to my father and asked him if the tow wives can visit one another . my mom took me in her visit with the Arab woman I was 11 or 12 for hours I was the translator loool and that the only Arab friend my mom ever had and visited.

You know that this woman doesn't represent the average reer koonfur. She is a reer xamar cad cad.AGENT447 wrote:I am surprised she used that word and not "Gawar" ree konfur act like the word naag is not part of their vocThuganomics wrote:"N" waa naag,and the pic
We don't say gawar like her kind.
We say gabar meaning an unmarried girl and naag for a married or previously married woman.
