The Kenyans are desperate, their khat industry is in crisis. Their territory claim against Somalia has no international support.Khalid Ali wrote:it all depends what they have to offer us and if the offee is good somaliland leaders will take it that i all i my self dont support the kenyans blindly but we need to look for areas of cooperation with the kenyans which will benefit somaliland in the long run their qat i am not a fan of it but mogadishu banning their qat is a blessing really it opened a few doors for us. as for the waters no one in sl cares for these waters if the kenyan deal is good wet will grab it with both of our hands
We should drive a hard bargain.
Re: kenyan vice president william ruto to visit somaliland
International relations is all about national interests and its been said for a long time that no country has interests strong enough to stick its neck out and recognise SL. It seems with the maritime dispute (where Kenya has levereged oil in Somali sea to borrow money) and Mira exports that Kenya might just have a real insentive to recognise SL.
However SLs long term geopolitcal goals and interests have to move beyond just recognition. If what they offer for recognition is their poisen mira and our support of their expansionist agenda against Somalia then they can fock of because i would rather we dont get recognition. They can visit all they like and build closer relations.

Good man cadaani.
For me recognition isn't about selling your dignity and honor. Ilahay ba ku aqoonsan oo dhulkas kugu aburay.
You don't need some Bantu to drug you while sucking your Somali brother's blood.
I have my limits.
They say the jiin will tell you he can do this and that for you but once you accept and indulge into his wonder ways, he will make you do whatever.
A life without ethics with its limitations is not a life where one goes far. Eventually you will drown in your own unethical Tsunami ways.
Ruto is not coming for little miraa. Don't put your hopes up.

i believe in your enemy enemy is your friend somalia is our enemy and kenya is somalias enemy thats one point
second yeynan ka hor deg degin what william ruto has to say by the way cadaani why does kenyas expasionist agenda against walanweyn is our problem what about walanweyn expansion against somaliland why not worry about that i believe the water dispute is not our concern by the way why do u people act as if recognition of somaliland is not something important. its something every govt of sl has been chasing it has become national obsession now if the kenyans present the opportunity though i am not a fan of qat it self imagine qaadka itoobiya oo la yareyo and we make space for kenyan qaad itoobiyan qad ictraaf lugu wa 21 years ba la cunayey. we have to think strategic long term somaliland politics is to make sure we have friends in our region kenya Ethiopia Djibouti Eritrea by the way hawd we are not selling our dignity by having relations with kenya kenya has never done as wrong why should we not team up.

I dont like the Kikuyu or whatever name is, those are hardcore christians ideologist, dont mind their false propaganda, they r the last African nation to accept a new MUSLIM and SOMALI country to be born in east Africa, those same people denied the somali majority in NFD to secede from the British rule who was preparing for kenya independence even though they have a strong legal leverage that they taken a referendum in their six districts where 80% wished to join what was called back then Republic of Somalia.
If they recognise Somaliland they will be sending a strong signal to somalis in NFD who have a strong case as well since they made a referndum ,to secede as well.
if we want to have a strong partner in Africa then think no other that South Africa, unfortunately we used to have strong relations with them during the life of president cigal, AUN, we even used to have a strong and out spoken representative dr.iqbaal Iqbal Jhazbhay who wrote one of the most important and renowned articles about Somaliland independence quest '' Africa Best kept Secret ".
I dont mind though playing on the nerve of the knofurians by strengthening our relations with the kikuyu, but i doubt anything tangible will be materialized with them.

I don't believe in any relations with Somalia. Be it political, economical or security. These are ppl who try to sabotage any horumar in SL out of pure envy and spite. There's no somalinimo beyond the SL borders, and even their "ban " on qaat was done out of spite. As long as Somalia continues to press us for our bread and butter I say fok them. If Kenya comes to us we should look at our interests before anyone else. Let's see what they bring to the table before we jump the gun. Right now we're entering a major economical change with the berbera port deal, we need to keep good relations with all east African countries and find a way to further our reach in the region.

Re: kenyan vice president william ruto to visit somaliland
I gacanyare sees things very clear i whole heartly view things from the Somaliland perspective Somaliland interest comes before Kenyan Ethiopian Somalia interest. Right now it is simple Kenya and Somaliland have the same enemy and that enemy sits on Mogadishu. Our eyes and focus should be on Mogadishu and we should plot work with Kenya how to weaken the Walanweyns if the opportunity rises for them they would have the same. Somalilanders need to stop this gobonimo Gobonimo and that nonsense made us losers in 1960. Take what belongs to you by force. Politically Kenya has a strong weight in the IGAD countries. After Ethiopia they are the second most powerful in the region as for Uhuro and William we shall see what they bring forward and if it is good we might consider it put Somaliland before anything else.
Re: kenyan vice president william ruto to visit somaliland
Khalid, dont get me wrong i understand the importance of recognition for SL. However there should be limits as to what we are willing to pay for it as it will not be free. I also agree with you that our biggest obstacle to recognition (and by extension our no.1 enemy in pursuit of it) is Somalia. But they are weak and in the long term they will not be able to stand in our way. Recognition comes from business and building economic relations with other nations as in the case of the UAE deal. Somalia tried but was powerless to stop that bilateral agreement between the governments of SL and UAE.Khalid Ali wrote:i believe in your enemy enemy is your friend somalia is our enemy and kenya is somalias enemy thats one point

The way I see Somalia is as an evil half brother that prays for and enjoys your downfall. He is willing to do what ever he can in his power to see you fail. Even knowing this i would rather my brother died by my hand than some bantu mother foker hell bent on stealing Somali land. Imagine 50 years from now and SL has been a recognised country for decades. Now imagine that recognition came about because we allowed Kenya to take advantage of and used us to steal land from a weak Somalia. We are only enemies with Somalia because we disagree on separation. When the day comes that we get recognition we are no longer enemies with Somalia. These Kenyans in the other hand, like Ramsey says, are not our friends and infact are our economic rivals in the future.

Re: kenyan vice president william ruto to visit somaliland
Walaal dont be so naive do u think Somalia will stop claiming Somaliland even if we had recognition, they will never rest to try to bring us down under Mogadishu they cant now because they are weak hence why we have to keep them weak in that position , we are not paying anything we are not selling our selves short we are just protecting our interest we are not limiting our selves the so called sea territory is non of our concern is it our sea no its not the whole sea was part of Kenya before English made a deal with the italians kismayo was part of British east Africa so i dont see a big deal about that., if somalia is doing everything to see us fail than we must make sure he fails and make sure Kenya screws him over. cadawgaaga cadawgiisa ku beeg.i have zero attachment to these people. If kenya recognizes Somaliland it means history will be different and Kenya and Somaliland will always be brothers and sisters but yaneyn deg degin lets see what william ruto has to say i think it is something good.
Re: kenyan vice president william ruto to visit somaliland

Unless they're talking recognition they can eff off.
Re: kenyan vice president william ruto to visit somaliland
I instinctively dont trust the intentions of this Kenyan. They want to sell their poisenous ruinous mirraa drug, whilst stealing Somali waters and land. And besides waa xaasidiin they will never reconise SL, they didnt in the past 25 years and they wont in the next 25.
Why are they coming to SL now when they ignored us for 25 years? Just at the time theyre trying to steal Somali waters. They can piss off.

We have nothing in common with Bantu Sanwayn-stan. Even under the British rule our Isaaq fathers were paying high price to be categorised as 'Asians' just because they had zero commonality with Bantus.
Today I'm not going to throw another Somali under the bus for meaningless visit while being poisoned.
If Bantus had good intentions they would visit you 10, 15, 20, 25 years ago.
The opium war is ugly and you will be known as the man who stabbed his brother over a bag over miraa opium.
It's shame some of you have no limits.
I don't consider Wanlawein an eternal enemy just we do things differently.
I'm happy to keep them at bay (containment) but never to watch them get exterminated by others. Even if I want them killed I rather do it than see others do it.
Ease up guys and stop getting excited over some Bantu our forefathers refused to even share identity card.
