Re: Kaddare script is the best indigenous script to write in our language
wadaad seems cool since its the oldest and was actively used too
Re: Kaddare script is the best indigenous script to write in our language
The wadaad script is nice and has been used historically but it is not indigenous to Somalia. It is an adaptation of somebody else's script, I can't celebrate that. I want something distinctly Somali, and the best one is the Osmanya script because it is the oldest Somali one we have today. The Borama script is a nice one as well and is also quite old. The Kaddare alphabet however, complete trash, not implemented, just some proposed alphabet. Why would anyone seriously want to use it lol, because it was made by a Hawiye? What nonsense. A waste of time even posting on this bait thread lol.

Read the report, the finale was between Kaddare and Latin script. I didn't bring Hawiye into this discussion.
Arabic script cannot be used while the Osmanya aside from economical reasons (such as kaddare, use of typewriters) had issues with the script itself, unlike Kaddare.
Re-read the 1961 report.
And check this out.

Sumado writing is an ancient hieroglyphics that was, and still, used by Somalis. In fact, Issa clan uses this ancient writing that is close to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics.
Similar Somali and Ancient Egyptian words and meanings:
Aar=Lion
Adeer=Uncle (paternally)
Rageedi=Perfect man
Somalis called the pyramids "xabaal Maguur", stable tombs.
Somali and ancient Egyptians had similar hairstyle, items and clothing, such as the "gundathe" and "hangool".
Conclusion: Sumado writing connects Somalis to ancient Egypt. Ancient Egypt's ancestral homeland was the horn of Africa, Djibouti, Somalia, and parts of Eritrea/Ethiopia.
Issa Xeer not only goes back to during Adal Empire times but reaches even deeper in some aspects into ancient Egypt's era.the Hieroglyphical Symbols of the Issas clans in East Africa . extracted from the book: "The Search for the Ugaas in the Xeer Tradition” by the Dr. Ali Moussa Iye.

^ Issa Horoone are the maternal ancestors of Bah Majerteen- MJ, Warsan and Dashishe.
It's obvious from our geographical location, language and DNA that we share a common ancestor with the Ancient Egyptians.

Interesting. How did both clans come together when we are separated by quite a distance, and other (some hostile) clans? Do you happen to know her name, full name?
Though Isse history is extensive, it is, however, mainly patriarchal. There is a dearth of matriarchal information -- that's a shame. Perhaps you can shed some light on this, and I will further explore it.

Not that much of a distance if Ciise lives in Awdal and Harti lived in Sanaag, hundreds of years ago, they may even have been neighbours.Jabuutawi wrote:Interesting. Her name was Fadumo Ceelaanyo, nickname was "Habar Udbo Lacag" aka Habar Majerteen, supposedly, the name Majerteen belonged to her Ciise Father who was from an Ciise subclan named "horoone".
Yeah, bro, pm me if you get more info. I'm headed to SomaliSpot.
