they should accept and deal with the fact that they will forever be a landlocked nation.

Re: Djibouti to join Ethiopia?
You have a better chance of uniting the 2 Koreas than uniting Djibouti with Ethiopia. The Djiboutians did not even join their own Somali brothers what makes you think they will join Ethiopia. The Issa tribes are very protective of that piece of land because of the independence and prestige it provides them, and stop with this nonsense of Ethiopia and Somalia wanting to conquer Djibouti, if either one wanted to conquer that piece of land they would have done it before the French, this would have turned into Clan wars. This whole myth of Ethiopia/Somalia invasion was created by the French to stay in Djibouti after the people revolted and demanded their departure. Also, stop lying about Ethiopia influencing the 'yes' vote by bringing Issas from Ethiopia to vote 'yes', if that was the case, then why was a third referendum needed? A Third referendum was needed because the first and the second referendums were fraudulent, the French prevented the local Issas from voting by importing and naturalising Afars from Ethiopia with the help of Ethiopia. They did not even allow the local Issas to vote and you are talking about them importing the ones in Ethiopia, my friend you are rewriting history. The Issa fought hard and died for that little piece of land, they were killed and terrorised by French colonisers while the Afars were favoured and protected, there is absolutely no way they would have allowed the French to stay. The only groups who wanted the French to stay were the Afars and the Amhara controled Ethiopian government since both were adversaries of the Somali people. Also these treaties you are talking about are fake treaties, they were not signed by Issa clan elders but rather by some individuals who claimed to be issa and the French ran with it. Until today there is NO document where the 12 Issa clans signed anything with the French. As for genetics, the Semitic Ethiopians are the most mixed in the Horn, we all know they came from Yemen 2000 years ago and brought the semitic language in the horn; also the origin of the Amhara people is unclear according to wikipedia but it's believed they also came from Yemen in as little as 500 BCE, so if Djibouti joins Ethiopia it will be under the 'Arab' influence you are ranting against, one more reason for Djibouti to stay away.
But I do agree with you in one point, Djibouti and Ethiopia need to cooperate more economically even though Ethiopia as always sucked Djibouti dry. Ethiopia isn't giving Djibouti anything for free, the water, the electricity, the food, the khat etc.. are all things Djibouti pays for, even for the train Djibouti is paying its part so don't make it sound like Djibouti is getting a free ride, if there's a country that is getting ripped off it's Djibouti since Ethiopians always complain and haggle with the port Authorities every year to renegotiate the rates. As for Ismail Omar Guelleh saying that phrase about the unification you are attributing to him, I couldn't find it anywhere so it would be great if you can show us the source. I think in the end, the whole region will be forced to integrate economically in the One Road One Belt and so will the entire African continent and once Africa becomes one through that initiative, people will realise that it's better to be a one giant economic entity with a huge purchasing power than to be a patch of countries with no real power.

Re: Djibouti to join Ethiopia?
I had a hunch this article was not written by a Djiboutian. Last post confirms it.
Tigrayans are afraid once Ethiopia collapses they are going to be a landlocked nation that is that much poorer, that much insecure. So, it's only natural that they cultivate some sort of illusory relationship with Djibouti to have sea access.
To us it is strictly business, no love lost with any Habashi.
