Mr Shah’s parents came to Britain from Pakistan, where his father was a baker. His childhood home in Nelson was demolished about 15 years ago, after which the family moved to northwest London.
The Jamas, originally from Somalia, are known to have been living in North Kensington. Mustaf, the elder brother, came to Britain in 2000 and was given seven years’ leave to remain in the country. His younger brother arrived in 2003 with their mother and is also here legally.
Detective Superintendent Andy Brennan said that police urgently needed information to help to trace the suspects.
After hours of CCTV footage were searched, images were found of the Toyota Rav4 used by the robbers who drove from London to Bradford in the early hours of November 18 and returned to the capital in the evening of the same day.
The silver vehicle was sighted at 3pm as it travelled along Morley Street, the scene of the robbery, a few minutes before the attack. It was also spotted heading for the motorway network at 3.41pm as the killers made their escape. The rented 4x4 was seized by police in Plumstead, southeast London, the next day.
Mr Brennan said there was no indication that any of the wanted men had left the country. It was possible that they were still in London, he said.
