I think your hatred for the Oromos is so strong that you're not being realistic. Or fair.
Ethiopia is not Somalia. It's very different. You can't just dismantle a 27 year old overnment overnight. That's not how things work.
In Ethiopia, you have way more diversity which means more opinions, beliefs, ideologies, etc.
You have powerful external powers with a vested interest in keeping Ethiopia intact, and stable.
You have a pm who has to work to dismantle a corrupt tigrayan elitist system that took 25 plus years, to establish.
You have a wealthy and well armed nemesis, the tplf, still out there able to finance conflicts.
Hence the reason why abiy is slowly getting their big dogs. Because he has to, or they'll incite more conflicts.
He may give immunity to some, to get others, which is a wise move to me.
But at the end of the day, you have to be realistic and not expect some miraculous changes to an empire, to happen overnight, or even in a year.
As far as dire dhawa goes, who knows who started it, but don't tell me it's coincidentally happening at a time when tplf big dogs just got caught and jailed. The two events are definitely related sir. Tplf is saying: if you come after us, we will not go down alone, we will take you all with us, which includes 7 to 8 million Somalis within Ethiopia.
Hate oromo all you want, but it's obvious who benefits when we fight, as oromo and Somali.
It's not Somalis or oromo either.
I speak from reality.I know what Oromos are especially when they displaced large numbers of my paternal family who have lived in the Balbaleyti for over 200 years.Their villages burnt and their livestock and farm land confisicated .Some lost their lives and are know in displacement camps in Babili where still hordes of Oromo qerro keep attacking them. The Ethiopian military is complacent nor does Abye nor Lemme stop these attacks.
When I see the attacks in Moyale or Dhire daba I just see a repeatition of what happened before. The only people full of hate and deceit are oromos.Because their acrions speak louder than words.

One notable thing about your statement and which I concur is that whatever the opinions expressed about the Somali-Oromo conflicts and disputes one thing is undeniably clear as the daylight and that is the apparent that it only benefits the warlords of Mekelle and is detrimental to both Somali and Oromo equally.

One other point worth making is that this conflict shows the lack of foresight and naivety of the Somali and Oromo leaderships and intellectuals in the concerned. Unless something drastically changes and brought from the PM's Office the future looks terrifying with no hope a light at the end of the tunnel.
Don't fall for their pity, victim games and false compassionate grounds. It's how they operate and launch on their guests when least suspecting.

Galla and Amhara both conceal their true nature very well. We, Somalis, on the other end express our true feelings openly. The Galla knows the reality and will play low because he knows all odds are against him and will secretly inform each others "Somalis and the Habesha both have arms, but we don't. Not good time to show our true nature".

Tigrai and TPLF excuses are Abdi iley era-----yesterday.

The Galla threat will remain today and well into the future with TPLF vanished decades if not centuries later.

It's good to take tips from those who know them and their game plan.

I feel Django. He has every reason to dislike them. KUDOS to him. They need to stay within their borders and not swimming in Batalale or mass breeding in Wajale.

Preach Aw-rasta, preach, little did Somalis know about the true colour of Oromo, only those who have lived with them.
Balbaleyti
Maeso
Gursum and many other cities and villages were settled by Somalis 6 years ago, and now are Oromo cities with no Smali in sight after Qeero ethnic cleansing.
Dir-dhabe, Baabile, Tulli-guuleed, and Mooyaale are work in progress and will see the same fate as those other cities. It is time, time Somalis to wake up and don't fall the trap of Cushitic and Islam deception.

why do somalis brag about conquering land from ''gallas'' and others, then on the other hand, cry and complain if the same is done to them?
is not that a fair game, per your own logic? you guys say you kicked us out of many lands, killed our men, took our women, and pump your chests with pride about it; but if the same happens to you, then logically that should be fair game, no?
even though, that's not what oromos are doing intentionally. some isolated fights between oromo and somali groups do not represent the overall feelings of the two nations towards each other, and to say there's no tplf or foreign involvement or interests in the conflict, is to deny your own mother.
dire dhawa aside, you are naming highly contested lands brother zidane, there's no clear and defined border between us, u know it, i know it, we all know it; so let's not pretend baabile, tulluguled, cinaksen, miesso, qumbi, etc, are clearly the territory of one side/or the other, sir.
i am fair enough to say both sides should give land, in exchange, for eternal peace. we did the same with sidama, gurages, etc, they took lands, we took some, and ended our issues and now live in peace.

Dalalos, today is different than yesterday. People has awaken to the true colours of Oromo where yesterday they believed the conflict is between Iley's Liyu police and Oromo. Today, the attacks are all over the border areas targetting Somalis. Most of Somalis in the region are united now in this conflicts. It is actually blessing in disguise.

Exactly right - the timing of all of this says it all. It intensifies just as the old guard TPLF top dogs are getting arrested. Any critical thinker would note the timing of all this.

To be honest, I am sympathetic towards people like Django who have been effected in a personal way. I feel for all internally displaced persons, whether they be Somali, or Oromo - the likes of whom were chased out of Jijiga in their hundreds of thousands and still occupy IDP camps like Harameessa.

I can't blame people like Django for being emotionally charged. The region will pass this phase only when cooler heads, more objective heads prevail though.

I say this as a Noolee Oromo. I have a very real and dominant stake in Diree dhawa and the surrounding Oromo countryside including Haramaya. We have ZERO interest in clashing with local Somali clans and Gurgura, Jarso, etc. As Oromo, we have many other issues to work through with our countrymen elsewhere in Oromia and in opening up the state institutions to suit our interests. Beating up on lowly Somalis does little to nothing for us.

The TPLF have had 27 years to develop their level of political, economic, military and intelligence clout in Ethiopia, yet people on here doubt their ability and reach when Abiy has only been in office for a matter of months.

The Gallas are not interested in peace nor co-existence. It's their culture and way of life to have all or nothing.

If they are serious then let them recall all their people from Berbera, Hargeisa, Wajale, Bosaaso, Jigjiga and stay on their side of the border.

Also we need to hit the khat trade and ban that all together. Especially if the Somali Region passes 45% tax.

The Gallas are only interested in buying time and addressing the Amhara/Tigrai issues first then once that's dealt with they want to turn their attention to the Somalis.

Some of our brothers are not in tune with the reality because they are not from this end of the Somali Peninsula. They busy chewing garabo in the mainland with Gallas cleaning their toilets.

AwRastaale yeah sure, the Somalis in Ethiopia are going to effectively subject themselves to an economic embargo by denying trade with their larger, more populous bread basket neighbour from whom they purchase much more than khat. Be serious.

that's the thing, awwrastale lives in the west, he won't be effected by any of the negative things he's advocating/pushing for.
so if a poor innocent somali or oromo or both, gets harmed due to malicious propaganda, he doesn't care.
he wants oromo and somali to fight a protracted war, so that their tplf can sneak back into power, through the back door.
kkk, he will fail though. haqqa dha!

Waachis, when do you march on Mekelle and deal with them? When on the offensive you don’t waste resources fighting battles with minor players but focus on the enemies leadership.

The Oromo should realize that the Somali issue is a distraction and focus on Mekelle. Once the South Arabians are dealt with then everything else falls into place

Believe me Somalis have absolutely zero benefits from Gallas apart from them cutting their hair and cleaning their toilets. Khat has huge negative social and economical impact and the rest of whatever from Galla is no different.

What benefit do you believe you bring that cannot be existed without it?

You live in fantasy world. The sooner we ban Galla's unhealthy imports be it their massive beggar populations or khat---the better.

You are hilarious if you think Khat is the only export from Oromia. Oromia is the breadbasket of the horn, let alone Ethiopia. The Ethiopian Somali region would do well to prevent contraband and prevent the export of terrorism from their brothers in Somalia.

Believe me Galla boy, Somali Region and the rest of Somali Peninsula do not need Galla khat, chemicals and pesticide vegetables/fruits, or the beggars and all the chronic diseases that come with them including HIV/AIDS.

The only positive use is cutting hair and cleaning our over filled toilets. Only Gallas go inside those holes.

Somali land is far more productive and fertile as a lowland rich in nutrients and top soil.

We would love to ban anything from the Gallas.

Somali Region is capable of growing its own vegetables and fruits. As for the shortages they can always import from Somali Republic. All goods now come from Somalia in terms of grocery goods and other necessities. Galla are no better business people than Somalis.
