I reckon a new federal region for Habar Yonis will be recognized by SFG in the coming years, they will vote for N&N in elections and of course they will enjoy financial incentives, positions within government as well as developmental contracts as they become most crucial federal region in the North. I think we can all agree they have more backbone than any other opposition to the jeegan.

People don’t take me seriously but HY would completely go against SL for a chair. Abdirahman tuur declared independence because of Omar carte qalib. Within the former Somali Republic, Hawiye, Isaaq and Digil+Raxanweyn are all larger than Darod.

Your problem is not limited to numbers alone, but compounds into geography; in Somaliland you are a minority, and third in population after Isaaq and Dir, and in Somalia, you are also a minority, coming in 3rd after Hawiye and Digil+Raxanweyn.

All previous census data confirm this. The situation in SL is terms of hierarchy is pretty clear due to past voter registrations. If a new census is ever conducted in Somalia, Darod will be the biggest losers without a doubt.

I dont think most Hawiye or D&M are aware of the demographic realities of Somalia.

This isaaq looking for a kursi narrative is peddled by darood who are insecure about there position if we come back. The only ones looking for a kursi within isaaq is HY. Isaaq already had a kursi but habar Yonis were not happy so started Somaliland as a bargaining chip to get habar awal out of xamar and then we just took over SL and they went to xamar and started a civil war and lost. Plain and simple.

Most isaaq aren’t even angry with HY there is more of a disappointment. Harti is probably 70 percent of isaaq add ogadeen and marehan and darood outnumber isaaq.
