Sheikh Shariif wasn't too bad. Gaal dil gartisana sii. The man literally started fighting from the gates of Madaxtooyada completely surrounded by shabab. When his term ended most cities was liberated such as Xamar, Baydhabo, Beledweyne, Kismaayo, Afgooye, Jowhar, Merca , Balcad , Luuq, Ceel waaq, Garbohaarey, Guriceel, Dhoobleey,Dhuusamareeb, Matabaan etc.
No other gov after his term has made any tangible victories when it comes to liberating cities. HSM gov captured Warsheikh,Cadale,Baraawe, Janaale and buulo burde but thats about it. Farmaajo gov is yet to capture a strategic city.
Shariif brought the Turks to Somalia. Dislike him but Shariif captured most of the cities that are free today. He brought the turks, he ended transitional era. That is his legacy.
