You give naval base any where in the West of Berbera . You are no longer In control of the situation. Let the MoU fail. Ethiopia should jump when we say jump. Not the other way around. Prepare for war brother.

As I said a few times already before, if Djibouti is very serious about stopping the MOU between Somaliland and Ethiopia then it would need to do the following before Somaliland would accept to cancel the MOU:
a) Djibouti immediately recognises Somaliland officially as a country separate from Somalia, and
b) Djibouti proposes to Somaliland that these two only forge a EU style confederation with full economic integration and fiscal equalisation transfers; nobody else (in particular Somalia and Ethiopia) can join this confederation.

However Somaliland should NOT cancel this MOU but must pressure Ethiopia to hurry up and recognise our independence now, I would prefer to make an agreement with the Ethiopians

Ethiopia will use Berbera port commercially regardless if Somaliland is recognised or not. This competition for Djabouti port will not go away.

What they are trying to avoid is the idea of recognition for land. If the succeeded it would be more than just a commercial use of Berbera port. Instead It’s having Ethiopia share the Red Sea. Which is why Djabouti would rather have Somaliland gain its recognition without it giving Ethiopia access to the Red Sea.
