What is cohabitation.That in my mind refers to the last french governement consisting of a conservative president and a leftist prime minister.So why not?

I think cohabitation is incompatible with Muslims. This isn't to say there aren't Muslims who cohabitate, there are, but they cohabitate because they aren't conservative Muslims. Cohabitation exists because of economic & social hardships. It costs less to cohabitate than marry in the West. It's a means of socializing and keeping company. It's also for individuals who can't be responsible enough (marriage, raising children, etc).
